Can't help but feel this is training the sharks that boats means easy meals. Needs new ideas on shark deterrents.
These reef get speared once or twice a year. They havnt been trained nor are we trying them. Sharks chasing fish in destress is no new trait it’s natural instinct for them.

3:01 that was a bummer. At first I thought it was tearing off due to the gut shot, what slip tip were you using? 7:22, been watching a couple of recent vids of lads on the East coast trying to land a fish with the tax men coming in hot. Why don't you use a shark shield, pays for itself in no time and reduces the stress. Is it something people are doing to try and make content?? Nar wasn’t a gut shot smoked him middle off the body. We use mori slip tips never had this problem.
Mmm some guys on this trip we’re using one and said that once the sharks honed in on the fish it didn’t make any difference.

You guys ever thought of dropping a line tied to an electric reel or a wench to hook the fish up to the spear line as soon as hes hit? The the guy on the boat can crank it back up before the taxman gets him?
