If you're wondering what those black discs are that I'm using when free motion quilting, they are Martelli Palm Quilting Paddle Set. You can find them at: amzn.to/3qvChbP (US site) or amzn.to/2QuuChA (Canadian site) #affiliatelink
Fun! Thanks for sharing. I discovered coloring and thread painting on fabric during our COVID 19 isolation. It's a relaxing distraction from the current stress of social distancing and no longer being able to visit my mother and sister in their care facilities.
I love that you turned your quilt sandwich; I try so hard not to but, like you, I would not be able to go back over the lines I'd just done. Will have to give this a try - and I'll be practicing my free motion quilting :-)
Greetings Chatterbox Quilts! I found your TH-cam Channel on my search for Vintage Sewing Machine info. You are a savvy, sincere entrepreneur. I came here today on a link from your email. Love your machines; Quilting is cool! Thanks again! Saying 'Hi' from downtown Montréal!
Paint each area with aloe vera gel either before or after colouring with the pencils then heat set for a few minutes with your iron when it's dry. Voila! Colourfast colours!
I'm not sure about that as I don't wash projects like this. Anytime I add crayons or pencils to fabric, I don't wash it - these are wall hangings. You might be able to set the colour with gel medium or aloe vera but I would suggest you do a small practice piece first to see how it handles washing.

This is such a fun way to make a quick wall hanging without very much stitching. Who says we're too old to colour?!

you mention that you used water colour pencils will the colour was out when yuo wash the project ?

colouring on fabric with crayons....colour with WHITE crayons first, THEN the colour of your choice! Your colours will be more vibrant!
one thing is that you didnt show how to apply the coloured pencils onto the fabric? did i miss something ?
I mentioned that I used these just as pencil crayons - dry - and that I didn't add water to them which would dilute the colour a bit.
