Then there will be more work in all the industries since everybody's gaining productivity hence no change. But maybe u don't get a job if u don't know gpt, just like u don't get a decent job if u don't know how to use a computer now, or a factory machine two hundred yrs ago. Ofc it's gon be ez to pick up for the younger generation and old ppl will b retiring anyways hence not much change after all.
Cool video! Can you see AI having any effect on rareliquid's business model and the products you will sell? Have you thought about how you could use it to your advantage? Great video as always 👌
Is there any fututre for High Schoolers who just want to do M and A, investment banking sales and financial modeling. No quant, no coding and so on. Just good old fashioned sales, and still make ungodly amounts of money?
It's not ungodly amounts of money lol, those days are behind us pre 2008. Finance is a contracting industry: too much competition in the HF/PE/VC/IB space AI is going to monopolize the tech industry into a couple of winners while cutting employees and thinning the team eventually. Arguably the most potential opportunity is in Biotech, but again risky
Do you think that as productivity increases, banks will look to take on even more deals and therefore not really change the working hours? Perhaps see a combination of middle markets with the bulge brackets?
An interesting one. Analysts haven't exactl;y been covering themselves with glory this last earnings season. The number of reports of analysts being surprised by earnings at the nasdaq companies in particular is somewhat alarming. If you know the companies you cover reasonably well and you know their product, you should not be continuously being surprised. Would AI do any better, probably not, but just not being worse might be enough. I hope not but it would be good to see analysts raise their game a bit.
Hey i know this has nothing to do with the video but what’s the easiest way to convert a fiscal year to a calendar year? Is there a quick way or do you have to add the quarters
most accurate is adding the quarters. otherwise take the % of each year and multiply to each relevant line item for ex if fiscal year is 6/30 and you’re calendarizing for 2022 then you’d take 50% x 2022 + 50% x 2023
Im kinda glad im in manufacturing now. Unless AI can suddenly source materials and assemble an electronic gadget, otherwise my industry should remain the same. Right?
No because Microsoft wants people to suffer hence Elon musk suing. Bloomberg funding wef instead of open sourcing his terminals that could really help everyone
Did you travel via plane? Or was the distance short enough to travel via car/public transportation? Asking since I might have a passport issue, nothing illegal. Thanks for the reply. Have fun in Seoul!
no because IB analysts don't have technical skills. they're even the least technical of all the finance analysts. hence chatgpt can't replace them, because their job is not technical.
?????? IB analysts are arguably more technical than ER and AM analysts, and hands down undoubtedly more technical and faster than the typical FP&A/ corpfin analyst
I don't really believe in an AI revolution. The only place it might have true enroads is financial services. AI will absolutely destroy investment banking. Just turn on a program and set the parameters and why would you need so many active managers?

I work in research in IB in jp. I am needing part 2 of this video now!
If one bank uses AI, it’s gonna beat other banks in deal flow. So in the end all banks will adopt AI and hours are same.
Would love more videos covering AI and your thoughts for every development there is!
Will definitely reduce the number of vacancy of human in the area. As Human with tool like GPT can do much more work.
Survival of the fittest

The job won’t be replaced but it will be made easier😄
As long as your boss, CEO, and overlord aren't greedy

You misunderstand the banking model fundamentally.
Theyre not paid to be right. Theyre paid to produce marketing materials.
@@AN3MY no not really, are you a banker?
You can't take the banking outta the man 😂😂😂
Imagine graduating triple honours from HSW then working on fixing double spaces and font sizes 😂😂🤣 HF all the way

Just the 90-hour working week will become 40 hours.

I mean AI shortened grunt work
watching this after the GPT 4 -0 presentation?
Hi Ben
Did you travel for work when you were an analyst?
Is it common to do so?
nope not that common maybe few times a year
Did you travel via plane? Or was the distance short enough to travel via car/public transportation? Asking since I might have a passport issue, nothing illegal.
