Yes, MANY of these so called analysts, podcasters etc have been around football for MANY yrs. HOWEVER, in soooo many instances they make stupid comments. They don't review the facts that are staring them right in the face. They utilize their emotional bias/stupidity to comment. Thus, in MANY cases their Opinions are flat out WRONG! I rarely click on them to hear what they have to say anymore because of this simple fact. BUT, LOL, I had to click this time because of the complete obsurdity of what i could NOT believe what i was seeing, lol. PLUS, lol, I had to vent and I am NOT even a bears fan. Good Luck to what ever team you follow - Happy Thanksgiving!
Caleb held the ball way to long and threw the ball to far with 20+ on that last play with seconds left in the game. No awareness of the situation. Sure blame the coach for no time out but Caleb should have made a quick short 7 yard pass and call timeout.
Caleb obviously did not handle that last play correctly, full stop. As a head coach though in your 3rd year how do you allow this to happen. How do you end the game with a timeout still available. How after all this time can you not figure out basic game management. It blows my mind
As Bears fan this season is over for me so all I'm looking for the rest of the season is for Williams continue to play well, us to continue to lose, and Eberflus to continue to look bad. I got all 3 today.
Today might have been the best for the bears . You put the fear of god in the lions . Caleb again looked great and Eberflus probably just got himself fired by Monday .
I thouight the interview of Caleb was revealing He said he "checked out" of the play that was called for him to be able to get the quick yards needed for thre field goal THAT was the reason they spent so much waisted time at the line of scrimage The coach DIDN"T throw the QB under the bus for this blunder
The only thing worse than Eberflus' clock management, were the refs that game. Those officials need to be exposed, but the Bears horrid clock management is going to overshadow the disgustingly bad officiating.
THE ONLY REASON THIS GAME WAS CLOSE WAS THE INJURIES ON THE LIONS DEFENSE, theres no random amazing comeback its just taking advantage of a destroyed defense
I wouldn't bet on that. Mike McCarthy, Anthony Lynn and Brandon Staley are all still making very good money coaching in the NFL. Once you're in The Club, it's *really* hard to get yourself thrown out of it. I mean you have to screw up at Urban Meyer levels of "WTF???", and that is very rare.
I THOUGHT I knew what incompetence was while I watched the Bengals from about 1999 to 2018, but Eberflus and the rest of the Bears have taken incompetence to a completely new level that surpasses that which the Bengals exhibited during my given time period! He didn't realize that he couldn't carry over that TO in his back pocket to the next game?!?! He didn't realize that TOs don't have a carry-over provision like data and minute plans for cell phones do from month to month?!?! I don't like calling for anyone to lose their job, but I'm making an exception for this exhibition of extremely gross incompetence! I know the McClaskeys don't like firing a head coach midseason(they've never done so in team history!), but Eberflus should've been/needed to be fired as soon as the wheels of the plane hit the runway at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago! The rest of his coaches on the sideline with him share some culpability in this gross incompetence, by not getting in Eberflus' ear to emphatically demand he(Eberflus)call that last TO, if not to win the game but give the kicker a chance to tie the game with a FG and then take your chances in OT! I can't WAIT to hear what Michael Wilbon has to say on this topic/subject on his show PTI with Tony Kornheiser! Duh Bears are the laughing stock of the NFL now!😬🤔🤨🤷♂️🤦♂️😂
Coach will take the blame, but in the last 2 minutes the bears gave up 2 sacks, and had 2 long pass completions brought back for penalties. That's on the players.
Chicago suburbs here. Just wanna give my two cents. The McCaskey family only care about money, in my opinion they know nothing about football and care nothing for the players or the city of Chicago. Matt Eberflus should be fired for that horrific time management, but I bet he won’t. We’ll keep watching the games paying for the gear. They’ll collect the money and we’ll say wait till next year.
That's the thing with NFL team owners - they ALWAYS get richer, no matter what. It's one of the very few businesses in the world where you can absolutely suck for decades on end, and not only stay in business but still make more and more money every year. Winning has a different meaning when it's literally impossible for you to lose. BTW Eberflop did get fired finally. So that's... something.
As a lifelong Bears fan, in my 40s, watching the NFL for decades, I still can’t get over the end of that game. It’s unbelievable the clock ran down and the game ended with a timeout.
I don't know that flustered is the word I would use for a team that scored on 3 of the last 5 drives and was about to either tie or win the game. This is the leagues worst team against the best so the fact the Bears were even in this should be highly concerning to Lions fans. You failed to put away the worst team in the league.
The Bears had that game, but damn how fked up you have to be to not see the clock just ticking down and you still had 1 timeout to use and just stand there and piss the game away 🤷🏻♂️😂😂😂
And next year another team will hire him, saying, "Well, he has a lot of experience." Yeah. A lot of experience shitting the bed and refusing to own up to it. 🤣
This game being this close and only ending in a win because the Bears have no idea what a game clock is, could very well have lasting effects for the Lions. They no longer know they're untouchable. Uh oh....
Lions lost a lot of players this game. Everyone says the Chiefs play close games. The truth is the matter is the injuries started piling up at the beginning of the season. I am thankful we are starting to get some back. Others are out for the season. We still have issues on offense. Hopefully the new signing will shore up Mahomes blind side.
Only thing I can think of since there was an active play clock, which I’m not sure if that’s always the case whenever there is less than 25-40 seconds remaining on game clock. Will there always be a play clock if the game clock shows less time than standard reset of play clock. Or like when there’s less than 24 seconds on game clock in NBA, there is no shot clock. Since there was like 15 seconds on play clock, that’s what I’m assuming Caleb Williams and coach were looking at
Anybody who had $ on the Lions and the spread , like myself, went oh s*** when Gibbs fumbled. Between that fumble and 3 field goals a seasoned gambler knows what's usually ahead after that. And sure enough, the Lions turned into the Lions of yesteryear and played like crap in the second half.
what...was...that?!?!?!?!?!!?!? how do you leave a timeout on the board in THAT situation? Why did the coach look confused at the end like he was not even aware of the situation?

Eberflus must have an incentive clause in his contract that pays him extra for each unused timeout at the end of the season 😂
Rich loves to take those glasses off 😂
It's like when lil Wayne flicks the lighter
His camera lights were reflecting -
Reading glasses.
He gets the drama it aggrandizes
@mYGod1993 😂 it's exactly like that
Caleb let almost 10 seconds run off the clock once everyone got back.
If he snaps the ball at 15 seconds, heck even 10 seconds, they at minimum get a shot at a 58 yard field goal.
He’s getting a pass here and I don’t get it
Everyone watching at home knew he needed to snap the ball much earlier and were scratching their heads yet we haven't played as much high level ball as Caleb. People saying "he's just a rookie" are silly when everyone watching the game knew what Caleb didn't 😂😂
Those receivers weren't set til about 10 seconds left.
@@joshminnhe snapped it at 7. Huge mistake
He's part of the blame. But head coach should have seen the ship sinking and called TO!!
The head coach's first job is to make sure the team is prepared. Most teams actually practice this sort of thing. Hell, frickin' grade school coaches understand this stuff.
Rich keeps talking about how good the Bears looked against the Jags like that is some great achievement.
It's not but looking good against the commanders pack vikes and lions. THATS not nothing
For real lmao, because he saw it in person means they’re better than teams he didn’t see
Yes, MANY of these so called analysts, podcasters etc have been around football for MANY yrs. Lol, i am a vikings fan - i blame my mother for that, lol.
Actually, Rich's comment about the bears beating the jaguars wasn't too bad, lol. But, still gave them to much credit, what ever, lol. He has made along with MANY other podcasters much worse comments that totally disregard any of the facts, thus as mentioned I do not listen anymore, lol. Good Luck to what ever team you follow - Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy thanksgiving Rich!
Hope you and your family had a nice one!
Caleb held the ball way to long and threw the ball to far with 20+ on that last play with seconds left in the game. No awareness of the situation. Sure blame the coach for no time out but Caleb should have made a quick short 7 yard pass and call timeout.
Rookie QBs follow orders. Blame him for bad throws, not end of game clock management. That's his head coach's job at this point in his career.
It's on the coach to call TO right after the sack
Caleb obviously did not handle that last play correctly, full stop. As a head coach though in your 3rd year how do you allow this to happen. How do you end the game with a timeout still available. How after all this time can you not figure out basic game management. It blows my mind
Flus on the hot seat? What seat? There is nothing but ash at this point.
😂
Not even Bears fans, but we were all screaming at the TV as they totally botched clock management after Williams was sacked.
The bears coach FIRED!!
I just want to know where did the Lions O coordinator go to take a nap in the second half?
As Bears fan this season is over for me so all I'm looking for the rest of the season is for Williams continue to play well, us to continue to lose, and Eberflus to continue to look bad. I got all 3 today.
Today might have been the best for the bears . You put the fear of god in the lions . Caleb again looked great and Eberflus probably just got himself fired by Monday .
I thouight the interview of Caleb was revealing
He said he "checked out" of the play that was called for him to be able to get the quick yards needed for thre field goal
THAT was the reason they spent so much waisted time at the line of scrimage
The coach DIDN"T throw the QB under the bus for this blunder
Rich Eisen your instant reaction is greatly appreciated Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family.
Thank you.
The only thing worse than Eberflus' clock management, were the refs that game. Those officials need to be exposed, but the Bears horrid clock management is going to overshadow the disgustingly bad officiating.
Right! They missed at least 3 VERY clear delay of games and that last PI was awful
word
To quote Mike Valenti the Monday after the 2006 MSU-Notre Dame game “Timeouts aren’t like cellphone minutes; they don’t carry over!”
Valenti rant is legendary
Someone said Ben Johnson had a front seat to see what the kid can do in the second half
Little?
@timmy-bo2891 he's also never going to Chicago lol he respects dan too much no nfc north team can get Johnson
Thanks Matt
Let's not forget the Lions just played an away game in Indy just 4 days ago.
Don’t understand the Lions up 12 with 2 RB who nobody could stop
and they were throwing the ball all over the lot
And? Lions could not ask for a better team on short turnaround than these Bears.
@@anthonythomas6977I could name about 10 teams we would rather play before an in division game against the bears but okay lol
And? Bears just played an OT game 4 days ago and now on the road.
I’m pretty sure the bears played on a short week too.
Lions play like this against Philly, they’ll be destroyed
THE ONLY REASON THIS GAME WAS CLOSE WAS THE INJURIES ON THE LIONS DEFENSE, theres no random amazing comeback its just taking advantage of a destroyed defense
Eberflus is done. Not just with the Bears but in the league. Absolute trash game and team management
Duh Bears are the laughing stock of the NFL now!😬🤔🤨🤷♂️🤦♂️😂
Does anyone care that Caleb changed the play at the line, which led to the loss???
Becsuse the reveivers werent set
That hum you heard across the nation at the end of the game was the sound of millions of people yelling at their TV's "CALL TIMEOUT!!!!"
Coach will take the blame, but in the last 2 minutes the bears gave up 2 sacks, and had 2 long pass completions brought back for penalties. That's on the players.
This was the Bears’ version of Mornhinweg taking the wind. As a Lions fan it’s fun finally being on the winning side of a stupid loss.
Eberflus could've called the time out, but Caleb could have called the time out too! They blew it!
Seriously….that was on the coach! Don’t blame the rookie!
@@OjeanJohnsonWinterAirbnb If he wants to become a leader he has to make decisions! Stop making excuses for his behavior! He's on the NFL now!
The Bears needed to run a quick play...otherwise they would have had to rush the field goal unit on just to try to tie the game.
@@AEMoreira81 They could have done a play to the left or right to get out of bounds.
So that's... something.
New adjective: Eberflusian.
😂😂😂😂😂 yes, well said
I like it. Its right up there with Ruthian.
At home reactions! Love it Rich ❤
The holding that wasn't called is the only reason this game was close.
That was MIND BOGGLING, How ... just HOW do you NOT call a Timeout????
Bears fan here...fire the Head Coach asap!!! This team needs a change now !!!
As a lifelong Bears fan, in my 40s, watching the NFL for decades, I still can’t get over the end of that game. It’s unbelievable the clock ran down and the game ended with a timeout.
I can’t believe they didn’t use their last timeout. The offense was clearly flustered. They didn’t even do a proper Hail Mary.
I don't know that flustered is the word I would use for a team that scored on 3 of the last 5 drives and was about to either tie or win the game. This is the leagues worst team against the best so the fact the Bears were even in this should be highly concerning to Lions fans. You failed to put away the worst team in the league.
Nice try lmao@@Osmonic74
@@Osmonic74should the chiefs be concerned? They have been winning like this all season
As usual another brilliant take by Rich.
Eberflus keeps having opportunities to save his job and he actively decides against it lol.
I like the title of your book on the shelf. “Fiasco”. Fitting!
I don't usually talk about people's jobs but they have to fire that guy, right???
Vildor? Or Eberflus?
Is Ditka still available?
The Bears had that game, but damn how fked up you have to be to not see the clock just ticking down and you still had 1 timeout to use and just stand there and piss the game away 🤷🏻♂️😂😂😂
did you miss the false start on the 4th and 17.
As a Lions Lifer the Vildor and Jamo penalties concern me. Williams I hope keeps the primidone inclinations in check.
Did you try to write prima donna?
@@somerandomguy5977 I did and I failed miserably.
It looked like bear stuck a leg out a little to trip him on way out, but that is no excuse
Chicago Bears now fires Matt Eberflus.
And next year another team will hire him, saying, "Well, he has a lot of experience."
Yeah. A lot of experience shitting the bed and refusing to own up to it. 🤣
The bears have been a dumpster fire for 35 years. This is to be expected.
🔥🔥🔥 is definitely used in the correct context in regards to Enerflus and that end of game debacle 😖😖😖
Everyone but the Bears' front office knew Caleb needed a competent coach, yet the Bears kept a lame duck coach.
You the man, Rich.
So the difference between Caleb Williams and Justin Fields is...
Passing ability
Processing. Caleb is definitely a quick improviser.
Someone said they looked up disaster on Google maps and it showed Halas Hall
IDC just glad we escaped 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽
This game being this close and only ending in a win because the Bears have no idea what a game clock is, could very well have lasting effects for the Lions. They no longer know they're untouchable. Uh oh....
@1_underthesun LMAO okay captain over reaction. When have the Lions thought they were "untouchable"?
Lions lost a lot of players this game. Everyone says the Chiefs play close games. The truth is the matter is the injuries started piling up at the beginning of the season. I am thankful we are starting to get some back. Others are out for the season. We still have issues on offense. Hopefully the new signing will shore up Mahomes blind side.
@JohnnyJenkins-c4w exactly
@@1_underthesun we never thought we were untouchable 🤡🤡🤡 damn y'all just waiting for us to fail. Haters
Since there was like 15 seconds on play clock, that’s what I’m assuming Caleb Williams and coach were looking at
Everything shifted after jahmir's fumble
Jamos personal fual hurt us as well.
Eh, they were not crisp before that, either. Way too many FG attempts.
what...was...that?!?!?!?!?!!?!? how do you leave a timeout on the board in THAT situation? Why did the coach look confused at the end like he was not even aware of the situation?
