Why don’t they sell it, plenty of high paying buyers can be found to profit from. He has a huge audience, atleast 1 out of the millions would have the budget, and interest to buy it. I mean what would this be at retail? 15 to 18K? Maybe more? Just for the cool factor

Arm only for laptops. iMac 50% chance of probability using arm. MacPro would still using intel/amd.
I'm sure they will use ARM CPUs only on some insanely sleek MacBook, because if they completely switch to another architecture a year after they released a x86 workstation that can cost up to 53k bucks, they are really stupid.
@@comicsanz97 correct and they also need to give devs time to update their apps to support arm as well. They won't (also can't) wholesale switch to arm for at least a few years (maybe never 100%)
transatlant1c yeah Apple has been adding support and pushing devs to port mac apps to iPados probably so when they switch to x86 processors they will already have apps done.

@@maqqi7124 If you want it black, I highly recommend finding an anodizing outfit that does scary black rifles. It's far superior to paint, which is why Apple anodized their cases, and anodization is nearly marine-proof. If you're a 40K fan, there's a military standard puke green generally available for cheap and super durable, if you feel like hanging out with Nurgle.

I have wanted to do this for 3 years. I have like 5 G5s in our shop and I could cobble something together that would work, but the hardware to complete the modification of the case is something I don't have until recently.

It's actually because that's one of the few cards that will work under MacOS. Essentially unlike windows and Linux apple only needs to include drivers for devices which they use. This means only a select few broadcom chipsets work. The most common chips used for this purpose feature 3 wifi antennae and 1 bluetooth antenna.

It's ok, the PSU can't block airflow if the fans aren't even turning
It’s also water cooled so airflow is not as much of a concern as it would be if it was air cooled

Yeah, for real. This is probably one of the most involved builds on the channel. Make it a showpiece.
Sadly a lot of the parts for their builds are provided by sponsor companies and aren’t theirs to keep, and even the parts they CAN keep are very expensive and it makes a lot more sense to reuse them in future builds than to drop tens of thousands on new stuff. It sucks and it hurts me soul but it really has to be that way sadly
For real! They should always have a reference hackintosh for benchmarking.
But they use mac’s in their daily business. It’s still cost effective to keep it in use.

It would be interesting but probably hard/impossible to have all the writers like it. Remember the 1 time Linus designed a case from the start is his/yvonne’s personal rig and he’s not shared the CAD files for it because of all the things he now knows is bad with the case
