    Beautiful work! Needs to be hanging in someone's office! Want to get a couple of those markers and try them out.

    One other thing you can use that type of marker for is tokonol. There used to be someone at various fairs near me that sold leather goods who told me about it when I was starting out. Just a cheap custom watercolor marker set that a lot of places were selling for kids at the time, and it makes working on the edges far easier.
    Not sure if I'd go with the more expensive options for that since it does, eventually, gum up faster than dyes or paints can, but it makes things so much easier

    Nice one. There are artists gloves that are a cutdown glove to avoid smudging your work. In essence they replace the sheet of paper that you have to keep moving around. Amazon have them

    Those are handy, I've used other brands before. I think I would have skipped the antique, maybe oil instead. I like your brushes, where do you source them?

      Most of my brushes come from Weaver. The few that I do have that aren't, are just the cheap ones from big box stores. Nothing expensive.

    I've been using the half inch version for some time now for edges ... also ... the left hand threads prevent you from inadvertently unscrewing the "front" when you're removing the cap

      That makes a lot of sense on why they are threaded that way. Thanks!

    is there any technique that can be used for painting on chrome/pullup leather? I know the oils complicate it.

      Paint is a real challenge for the reason you mentioned. Dye, on the other hand is definitely an option. I did a pocket journal a few videos back where I showed you how to add a design to crazy horse leather using dye.

    Daniel what is the feasibility of changing dye colors? Mainly dark colors to light colors.

      Cleaning the inside of the marker wouldn't be all that tough. A little rubbing alcohol for alcohol based dyes and it should clean right up. The problem would be the nib. Maybe try soaking it in alcohol, but honestly, I have no idea if that would work. It could clean up with no problem, or it could destroy the nib.
      The markers are really affordable. If you can, I would just get one marker for each color you use most frequently.
      Great question though!

    After using the paint markers does the paint dry and harden on the felt tip? If so, what can be done to remedy the problem?

    • @DanielReachCreations
      @DanielReachCreations 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thats a great question! My markers have been sitting there for several weeks without being used and they were still fresh and ready to go, they just needed to be shaken up.

      @user-qo5nt6ph9k 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it DOES harden then i imagine paint thinner and hot water can probably clean most of the stuff off. Hold the crusted side in some thinner until the paint starts coming off then carefully take a paper towel or a rag and wipe off the paint. Once you get a decent bit of the paint off, switch to hot water and let it soak until the paint is pliant or falls off in the water, pull out, wipe, repeat until the nib it usable again.

    Has this been tested with gel antique?

    • @DanielReachCreations
      @DanielReachCreations 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wouldn't try it. You really need something around the thickness of milk or less. Gel antique would be too thick. At least that would be what I would expect from my experience.

      @@DanielReachCreations gotcha. Ill have to experiment then. Thank you much!

    I think that Weaver should have ordered all of the markers the same. Why would the manufacturer make only two of the markers different from the rest of them. I would have had the same problem if I started filling the markers that didn’t have the screw off bottom. Can you image if you made that mistake on your Dragon or the Bob Cat and it spilled all over them. In my opinion you should not have used the antique. It looks al smudged.

    I think they stopped teaching kids the proper way to hold a writing instrument after the 80's, seems like grandparents even lack that education...cool markers though

      Or maybe he has a reason for holding the pen that way. I have a strange handwriting grip because of joint issues. People comment on it from time to time, sometimes not kindly, and I always wonder why it even matters. Plus he's not writing anything, he's painting.

      Completely understand a handicap, you do what you gotta do. However, when I was a kid I can't stress how much it was drilled in my head the correct way to hold a pencil and spoon, and I was a hard headed kid so I learned the hard way.
      I also thought why is it important?....I still manage to feed myself and mark on paper.
      It's the difference in learning the right way to do something and learning the wrong way to do something, you handicap yourself when you learn the wrong way. Its why kids cant read and right in cursive, tell time on a clock, or make change for a dollar on a wide scale these days. THAT is why its important.
