they are somewhat scripted. harry sends prep sheets that includes a list of questions just like most professional podcasters do - just to put guests at ease and not put them on the spot in front of such huge audiences. i expect benioff just doesn’t feel comfortable riffing yet; he said at the beginning he is learning how to be a good guest so he’s probably just getting used to such long format Q&A

Their job board is full of Software Engineering jobs and they're paying close to 200 K for some positions, to me they seem desperate to hire a lots of new software engineers.
Salesforce already spends 240% of their R&D budget on sales & marketing. As a comparison, Microsoft spends 83% of their R&D budget on sales & marketing. If you pay for Salesforce licenses, 33% of your bill goes to running Salesforce servers and investing in R&D. The rest goes to sales, marketing, admin costs, and company profits.
Going all in on salespeople and no engineering. Seems to be the path for all companies. Pretty soon there will be no skilled jobs, just the rowdiest most overconfident salespeople will run everything.
@ I work in the Salesforce ecosystem and don’t like hearing it, but it’s what he said in the video. I have a technical background and selling isn’t my strong suit but that seems to be the only thing that matters these days.
@@dollarette SF did miss earnings last year for the first time in like 20 years so there’s that. Thanks for the info. It really helps as I’ve been planning a pivot.
Leaving engineers behind will kill these companies eventually. Even if you have more productive engineers, you need greenfielding and innovation to spark the new ideas. These models are trained on the old and are just regurgitating it. It's the same reason Intel is struggling. They de-emphasized engineering and prioritized sales.

Here come the software engineers and CS majors to cope and tell us that "every company needs thousands of SWEs bro"
The main question is why companies need a salesforce when they can now build their own CRM tool using AI.
they will acquire the company that makes AI ERP
@@GuneetChatha420which companies?
they dont need it because salesforce is just a database. with RAG + LLM its not needed anymore
@@AlternativeTakes probably would be cheaper than Salesforce’s “$2 a conversation”.
Try building a large scale enterprise level CRM with proper segmentation and permissioning with ai
Is that interview scripted? Looks like Marc is reading from the screen.
Yes! Very much seems like it!

Felt like a sales pitch for agentforce!

Benioff is like that all the time in public. He writes the scripts his employees are reading.
that is a real revolution!
The number of times he said a word ending with "force"! :P
Why your company’s job careers show software engineer jobs?? Are you fooling people with fake job postings?
WOW, Thich Nhat Hanh!!! So proud of him!

Headcount increase is not the same as hiring
Mark says Agent force for everything
No more software engineers and sales people instead is kinda wild
It is. Short the stock. Their product was crap before going to be worse now.

Didn’t Clare, hear it AI leave recently?
yes she’s at Meta now.
Salesforce will fall depending on ai. Ai is the most over hyped tech ever. Companies are spending billions and not getting roi
I'll never invest in a company like CRM that is not investing in software engineers which forms the basis of the modern economy. I'm out.
Is this AI or Marc benioff?
Thank you for the interview! Hopefully, we all don't get replaced by AI 😉
What’s that smell? It’s a BS! I’d say market isn’t growing, so there’s less need for engineers.
Increase productivity by using AI my a$$. Your company is not doing well.
lol. "agentforce" if else and a loop
How does the underlying code have anything to do with anything

This is a red herring… This also means they’re not innovating anymore and they have no hard problems left to solve
AgentForce is just way too overhyped
He's not looking "younger and younger..." His hair is falling out. This kind of disingenuous flattery turns of viewers.
