Talking about Perplexity search: 1. Google has more initial information about user needs and desires. Google is ecosystem design to track user behavior. 2. Google can copy Perplexity ideas. 3. Learned user behavior is not easy to change. For Perplexity, it's an uphill battle, and it would not be easy.
I agree with the perplexity statement. Openperplex is a good example of how this approach can be reproduced. Not to the level of perplexity, but it still demonstrates that it’s really more of a process and utilizing different methodologies to make it work. Google is the king of search and I expect something similar from google soon. Same scenario with OpenAI’s o1. It’s a plan and execute approach. The big dogs still have the advantage
