In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. I found an electric supply company disposing of all their old stock. I told them I would haul it all away for free. I sold it all to a parts house. I made $1600 for 2 truck loads. Best freebie ever.
I feel you on this. The company i work for pays to have our scrap hualed away. Every time i see an open top full of stainless go out knowing we are paying to get rid of it makes me wanna cry.

So yesterday as I sit on my porch I see a white truck with wood sides loaded with scrap and a washer strapped on the tailgate. I got so excited thinking OMG it's Mike the Scavenger then I realised nope I live in Illinois not Texas

Children in the foster system need suitcases and backpacks because they usually leave home with a trash bag of stuff. This message is for everyone! Take items to the local CPS or whatever your county/town/state/etc call it. Collect items from hotel visits to pack for the kids and put a coloring book, crayons, pencils, and paper in for them to have something to do while the adults figure things out.

Mike. Attach a magnet to your stick so you can quickly pop it on the side of a dumpster when you need to use both hands. Keeps you from having to prop it up.

Hey Mike, you should try checking around body shops. All the fenders, inner bumpers and all the front end parts they toss. A lot of the front emd parts are aluminum. Big money💰. Just a thought. Be careful and safe. Happy dumpster diving.

Well Mike, not every scrap run "stacks up" to your last three...but you got some good stuff for your effort! The amount of Christmas lights was insane!
I agree with you on the nice change in the weather....it was 102° here in Austin Monday...yesterday it was only 86° with only 15% humidity! It made bringing in my groceries from HEB much more pleasant!!!

Cars bought off car lots no longer have the info taped to the front window. A paper temp plate is issued (with sale date/vin #) UNTILL a permanent one is sent from DMV.
That and people going after ‘ classic’ cars way less computer parts and easier to work on. TH-cam university does have good classes.

Just ordered a Scrappity Scrap Y'all t shirt. The Girls at EMR might notice it but have to wear all over High Viz to offload at the yard. I'm in the UK so don't do regular dumpster/ skip diving but have one off clearance jobs which yelds a bit of scrap. Thanks Mike for your YT footage!

The bulbs/tubes get burst anyways - either by you or when they throw them in the landfill. It eventually has to break and release the chemicals; you like it or not. Just don't bother about every silly comment.

If you go back to his first videos or at least the ones from 3 years ago you can see how much stronger he has gotten by doing all of these "workouts." Just his ability to jump in and out of the dumpsters has improved greatly.

Hey Mike just a safety tip be careful of the fluro tubes as the dust that comes out of them has mercury in them, if you have a cut and dust gets in it wash out straight away
