- Sakina Kamwendo, who is in Hammanskraal, Pretoria, is broadcasting from an area called Majaneng, one of the communities that have been hit hard by an outbreak of cholera that has taken 15 lives so far. She will be talking to the members of the communities, including those who have lost loved ones to the cholera outbreak. She will also be talk one of Tshwane City's Member of Mayoral Committee to get to the bottom of the problem, and hopefully to get solutions.

I stay in Hammaskraal carousel view. Water is an issue. People here are poor, how do you tell people not to drink tap water? Not everyone can afford bottled water. A friend of mine from Midrand drove all the way here to bring me bottled water. This has been going on from over 10years ago. Rather bring solutions which are permanent not this story of telling people not to drink tap water. Where does water come from besides the tap? Ayi chickens are coming home to roost...these dodge tenders and corrupt processes are now showing us flames. Kodwa it's the poor that will always suffer.
Standerton has thr very same problem with water supply, the water in Standerton is dirty.

The provision of basic services has scaled down to the lowest levels ever. What's ironic is that this affects negatively all those who unanimously vote the ANC. Nevertheless i reserve my sympathy for people who vote and not vote for the ANC.

Imagine if that 95+ million went into setting up and maintaining the water and power infrastructure instead of going towards the ANC ministers housing budget . Its a disgrace that the communities of south africa are treated so inhumanely.

I am Hammanskraal resident. I only fetched water from the water tanks by they start to operate. I immediately stopped by the time I saw the conditions of the water tankers.They are dirty even the pipes are too dirty. They are touched by everybody whilst the driver is sitting in the car.I buy water but what about the people who cannot buy mealie meal .Poverty is even a big problem in this community.

It is a sad and worry moment and not for blaming those who are suffering from the mismanagement of Government/Municipality! However, it is always the same as they continue to vote those who do nothing! Decades are gone without change of atitude!

Lack of service delivery, it is one and the same issue - no water means no sewage flow and no sanitation so obviously this creates the conditions for disease outbreak. Also the host clearly does not seem to understand the rate of cholera spread and the heart of the issue is that in the first instance Cholera is due to poor water management from GVT. Proper water management does not result in E- Coli, Cholera or Typhoid outbreak. Also why does news media not investigate how the outbreak occurred? Especially since since it stems from Rand Water??? And report on what is being done to rectify urgently as SA citizens' lives are at stake????

This problem started a long time ago.
The whole country needs to update water and sewage systems but the money has been stolen or mismanaged over years. Residents must vote differently and give other parties sufficient time because the truth is to fix these things will take years. DA is not really to blame here.
The answer is that, you can't do anything with the service delivery problems we are facing in south Africa. For as long as a black man rules.
