He got bored of selling newspapers and in doing so, he started talking to folks on the trains - particularly older, Civil War vets. In the biography Disney's World, he vouched to his wife Lilian on the train ride home from New York that he would never work for anyone else, other than himself, again. If he had, we wouldn't know Walt Disney today. He might be some obscure name in entertainment history, but nothing to what he is and was.
