I find it weird that American blacks call themselves the n-word but gets riled up with a person from a different nationality calling themselves "coloured" which is a race group in South Africa and not a derogatory word to us in South Africa.
As a coloured girl, I look up to Tyla (who’s also a coloured woman) and I appreciate that you are raising awareness about the fact people need to be educated on our racial system in South Africa! Thank you!❤️😅
Thankyou Mansa I don`t understand why Americans wants to erase our Coloured Identity. It is so hurtful and so annoying. Poeple speak about Coloured`s as if we dont and should not exist. I LOVE BEING COLOURED IN SOUTH AFRICA That is my identity.
It's easy. Trevor noah is equally " coloured" but he knows that the word has a negative connotation in America so he simply identifies himself as a black man or at best mixed while he was there. Does Tyler intend to create a "colored" category for herself when it comes to award shows based off of South Africa's definition of it in America? No! Tyla won't be lumped up with the Tylor swifts and katty perry's. She'd be compared with Tems, Tinashes, normanis, and ayras. So y trying to distance yourself when you'd be profiting off black culture? Why not market herself as an Indian then? This is why Nigerians are better than South Africans. They know how to adapt and still maintain their identity. She shld learn from Trevor cos her team is doing her no good.
@@cutiepiea3687 Please get your spelling right and the REAL HISTORY of SA.Blacks are from Africa but not indigenious to South Africa.Yes the tenants treated the owners better.

Thanks alot bro for explaining, Charlemagne has traveled all over Africa and he is very aware of the coloured community. I wonder why he brought it up in the first place.
Haven't been here in a while but I just wanted to say that I love you bro! From one South African sister to an American brother. Your reactions are still fire. Only love. Stay yourself. ❤️
Ja we love our Old Skool in SA. We play a wide variety of music on our radio stations in SA. Here in the States they play the same songs over and over multiple times a day to death! 😂
I love your comments on the race situation. What I find crazy is that they spoke about having been to S.A many times and yet he doesn't 'understand' why she identifies as colored!!
Totally agree, like it's some big mystery to him, they could have explained it on their show would have been a beautiful moment or not her race really doesn't matter

WE ARE VERY EXCITED TO HAVE YOU AS ONE OF OUR OWN & TRULY YOU ARE 100% SOUTH AFRICAN. Finally an American that understands coloured is not only a colour it's an culture as well.we hv our own language our own tradition, food and they way we dress.we are clearly distinguishable amongst others
Dankie Mansa Americans need to understand that Africa do things different ,it's not that deep to call African mix race people coloured they have their own culture we love them to death we are not discriminating them .how long we will tell Americans to Educate themselves about Africa it's tiring now.
Love the way u put the COLOURED issue to the for.... as a travelor, u see so many different cultures. Saudi Arabia was like my world turned upside down & the DIFFERENT is what I loved & enjoyed the most!!!! So thank You!!🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for representing the awesome Coloured Community Tyla. A rich and unique minority culture way too underrepresented even in SA. What gives Americans the right to decide what her cultural identity is? Ridiculous ignorance and arrogance
To me being Coloured is not about race it's about culture. It doesn't matter what your DNA is, if you grew up amongst Coloureds, walk, talk, dress, act like a Coloured then you are one of us
The history of colored is very complex. Some of us has koi, San, koraner, hesiqwa, chochokwa etc heritage and some of us are just mixed from from different nationalities. Because of the group areas we where all placed or thrown together in the same areas. We mingled and married and lived our lives under the regime. We are not white and we are not black we proudly colored ❤
My man Mansa. The term coloured is not accepted by everyone. We also cannot just get over it because identifying as coloured means that we'll have to forget our history of slavery and being the descendants of the 1st nation- the Khoisan and forget about our land being taken from us by the Apartheid pioneers. No, No No. We all know why people don't wanna be called Khoisan descendants- simply because of the apartheid mindset and feeling ashamed of being the offspring of the Khoi(Bushman): By Moihsan
They first tried to belittle her in this interview but she ignored them. They don’t know what they my are messing with, this is Tyla, she can turn them tables
They came into it with preconceived notions of who she was . Just because we are very passionate people as S-Acans doesn't mean we dont have respect and dignity. Our attitudes are based on honesty because our history was painful
Mansa you are right. Americans truly sound ignorant with this opinions based on no research. As a Coloured this girl is authentically Joburg Coloured. The accent, the style, even the cornrows are just so Kullid. And no. She's not Indian. That's s Coloured girl of Joburg East nogal. Imagine our Black people must school you on who we are. Just come and see. There is really Whites, Blacks, Coloureds over here and it's all cool. Jaaaaa we are a curious mix but that makes us authentic. And they got real Kullid replies from Tyla. They need Cape Town kullids who wont still be diplomatic. They would have been blessed into their parentage😂
He threw her off from the beginning with the poop comments … what a way to treat a guest on your show. Then pushing the fact the he knows Mac-G… like we got it the first time, and no one cares. He was trying to rile her up. And the “coloured” question… if you still need to be educated on South African coloureds in 2024, then that’s a YOU problem. Google is your friend… it’s not TYLA’s place to solve America’s educational crisis 😂. Lastly, why is he getting worked up by “They ain’t never seen a pretty girl from Jo’burg”? He came across almost envious… so weird. And Mansa, Tyla and Tems have a song together on TYLA’s album. 😅
Why asking her about her Cultural identity in the first place....What answer did Black Americans exspect from her ..must she change from what she is to what she is not ..just to please Black Americans....?
