    Awesome video. Those outdoor enclosures are really outstanding. So cool to see that The Spencer’s monitor is crazy defensive and feisty. Wow!

      the ones around Sydney region can be tamed and handled quite well. an old one at our home we sometimes feed will come up and lie on our lap. it's almost 2 meters long.

      Johanan Micaiah ETMs are found on a few Australian islands in the Torres Straits between the Cape York Peninsula and New Guinea. Tiny range and population for sure in that country.

    Too dry here in California to have cages like that but maybe a green house someday.

      Charles Lee Ray I’m in LA and think all of these species, aside from the Emerald tree monitor, would probably do great outdoors for much of the year in Southern California. Would need an indoor option or at least a heated shelter for cold nights.

    Cracking video :) wish I lived somewhere hot ... I'd love to be able to house my monitors/anacondas outdoors .

    • @alexcrowder1673
      @alexcrowder1673 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Welsh valley reptiles Man I have the opposite problem lol. I live in Arizona and its too hot and dry to keep many reptiles outdoors. Some tortoises ro great but anything that needs lots of humidity is really difficult to keep outdoors. Misters can't keep up with the dryness and If I were to try to contain the humidity I'd just end up cooking my reptiles because of the greenhouse effect. If it's 120 degrees and sunny outside, a glass cage sitting in the same area could be approaching 200 degrees. It's probably doable, but itd be so much easier if I was somewhere cooler and more humid like florida.

    Damn your monitors are mean and not tame , you should consider taming your animals so they know you. Cause from what I’ve just seen they all hate and want to eat you. You making me not want one now

    • @AussieReptilez
      @AussieReptilez  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He doesnt have to tame his monitors. Not all monitors can even be tame.
      if your expectations are that you are going to get a pet monitor and its going to be “tame” then maybe a monitor isnt the right pet for you. Its takes time to build trust with a monitor and Joe doesnt own them to have “puppy tame” monitors, he owns them for the excited of having australias Iconic monitors!

    • @AussieReptilez
      @AussieReptilez  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Youre telling me to shut up?
      Bro.. You clearly dont know anything about Monitors and their behaviour.
      “Your making me not want one now” thats honestly probably best if your mind set is that you are going to be able to cuddle with it and watch tv whilst you tickle its tummy.

    • @joshsaussiereptiles6271
      @joshsaussiereptiles6271 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Judge and the family mate if you think owning Monitors is like owning a dog or a blue tongue where it's all rainbows and unicorns your dreaming. Unless you want a little Ackie Monitor, these guys don't play ball like a Bearded Dragon. If you think that it's that simple you shouldn't own Monitors at all. Monitors are incredibly smart and territorial as seen in these videos so they are not trying to kill them nor do they hate them. Grow up, do some research before commenting next time would ya.
