Is there a guide on the Discard meta/Narwhal in general? I don't understand these concepts and I wanna use Kaveh/Xinyan/Consecrated Beasts so bad!! These characters brought me back to TCG lol
the most important things to understand about discard I believe is that if a skill only discards 1 card itll select the one with the highest cost in your current hand (its random if you have more than one of the same price) and that tuning is not discarding. Its important to understand if it includes tuning with whatever mechanic your trying to use otherwise you must discard it using a skill or a card that discards. If a card's effect is triggered upon being discard its even MORE important to see if tuning is included.

So Sunyata doesn't count as a discard despite it literally saying "discard" in the description
So discarding rn is Kusava, and any cards that get burned after you use a skill that says it'll discard cards

Think of the 5hp start like starting at 1/2 health and tunning as free healing

It can’t heal beyond its current limit but can increase the limit
Really love the deck concept, pretty straightforward to maximize narwhal's full potential (im currently experimenting with him since release and a LOT of experiments)
Narwhal is very satisfying to pull off, the same goes for apep but both have the same requirement which is time and sometimes the problem on not being able to discard or draw a card
Anyways, i've come to notedown potential threats with narwhal decks most of which as follows:
Wanderer decks
Ganyu decks
Hyper aggressive nilou kaveh
Consecrated beasts
What about Neuvillette Furina?
@@Midnight-og7zp I've encountered at least only one match againat furina, neuvi line up with wriothesley
They're not really a threat to narwhal since theirs is tempo (time) as well, but can be considered a fair match up if there's a freeze combined since the freeze would very much stall some time against narwhal
Narwhal's weakness is that
[1]it relies on discard (which is the sole concept) and if you don't have enough draws you'll certainly get into tight situations with no card on your hand cause the fruit discard or narwhal itself discarded your hand, [2] it's very vulnerable early rounds since you need to set up the pace, can literally be killed by ganyu and wanderer with just 1-2 round. [3] any decks that loves enormous burst amount of dmg can destroy narwhal pretty easily (An example of this is kaveh and xinyan, once these character gets killed 2-3 rounds narwhal loses tempo)
I recommend to players that to not solely rely on the discard fruit as the main powerhouse for discarding and use characters that does benefit/apply discard
For appep in particular my xinyan/dori/appep deck has felt super consistent because xinyan and Dori by you the time you need while still doing damage while using xinyan to get appep summons down, my match count with the Dori version isn’t high but It’s gotten four wins in a row and the electro cicin and fischl version I tried before also performed well
wanderer hard counters narwal pretty bad and imo has one of the best kaveh decks too

kaveh is weird to me.. it's like you have to stay on him and get stacks before blooming...
Furina switched sides with the end of the world gang
after testing this deck especially 2 cost one... i can say its the most consistent narwhal deck

I am once again convinced how badly I play card games. even in THC. I'm not going to win almost any battles, lol. I've created a vicious circle. I play with any assembled deck to collect coins. To spend them on a strong deck, because my chances of winning are always less than 1. But I can't collect coins because the deck is weak(❁´◡`❁)
I want to really play TCG but i don't understand a lot of the current cards like the one that looks like flag with gouba, a guide ir help would be appreciated
I cooked a furina layla neuvi deck if you wanna try? Both hydros can do big dmg with wep talent + can get stacks from underwater and hydro reso.. pair with maru hunter and xd...
I did try this with fontaine resonance as well, hopefully I'll get a video for this soon
May I ask what are the disadvantages and advantages that the 3-cost deck compares to the 2-cost deck?
2 cost deck is consistent and have a lot of options to play, downside is u have less damage with kaveh's bloom. 3 cost is opposite, less options but more dmg overall
How about battle with faruzan Lynette Ei, it counter this deck
Is there any reason to use the 2 cost over 3 cost? Seems like 2 cost would make kaveh’s 10 damage no longer possible since you’d be short of one
