Hahahah you’re funny. There’s currently fire stations in operation built before the invention of electricity, plumbing, and HVAC and have one set of stairs that is as step of climb as Mount Everest.

Modern fire trucks are filled with lithium-ion batteries. Portable radios, flashlights, ventilation fans, portable scene lighting and a wide array of hand-held power tools -- all powered by LI-ION batteries. Not saying that's the cause, but when those things fail they fail hard and fast.
Snarky comments. Fire departments exists to save lives, to save properties and help people in times of need. This looks like a serious fire, not a slight kitchen fire but possibly with the engines. I am glad that, so far, there are no reports of injuries and I wish only the best for all the firefighters.
That’s LAFD running EV’s, no EV’s are on order for LACoFD right now, the cause of the fire was likely an electrical failure from engine 164 which happens to be a diesel unit
So firefighters had to evacuate and call 911? (it's a joke people, don't reply to this trying to show a bunch of strangers that YOU know the correct procedure)
I am wondering if this station had an electric powered fire engine, I saw a video of the fire, and the last bay looked like it was shooting flames towards the other 2 bays. I am that no one got killed
I remember an old story from the 1970s about an FDNY company that went to a fire and left food cooking on their stove... They got called back, had to do a full attack into their own kitchen and they said they attacked that fire harder than any other they ever fought. Sheer panic. They knew they were already doomed to be known for eternity as the asshats who set their own station on fire; if one guy from one other company got one foot in the door before they controlled it, they'd be the asshats who set their own station on fire and then couldn't put it out themselves.
Fire station had no Smoke detectors!!! Fire was raging for awhile before the firemen were awaken by a Good Samaritan who banged on the door to the station!!!! It goes to show that keeping al doors closed will keep a nire at bay and if it wasn't for the Samaritan and the fire doors. We would have 11 dead firemen
If you look the building is still there. In fact its largely salvageable too. Tear off the roof, gut the interior, pull up the bay floor, and then pour a new floor, put on a new roof and rebuild the inside and it's good to go. You'll never get the smoke smell out, it's a fire station after all.
got plenty of effort from fire department, how much you wanna bet they did not stand around for an hour plus talking about it before trying to do something....
It just goes to show that even fire stations aren't immune to catching fire.
Does it? Wow
Now they have to call the firefighters.
A fire station catches on fire??? WOW!!
Well yeah that doesn't look good on them.
Happens more than you might think. Same with apparatus crashes.
Now THIS is ironic Alanis....
Don’t cha think?
LOL, I just posted a similar comment on FB a few days ago and everyone started singing the song line for line 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I want to hear the reaction from dispatch when that was called in....
Excuse me??? You're reporting a fire WHERE????😳
Right lmao
Who is stationed there? Fire Marshall Bill?
Given the value of the equipment, I am a little surprised they do not have sprinklers in the fire station, or at least the apparatus bay.

instead of fire sprinklers, they used the money for Newson's hair gel.
"Dale i told u not to plug in that stupid sign" hank hill from king of the hill
Beat me to it but at least it wasn't Chet Elderson
Do fire stations have smoke detectors or something in the apparatus bays?
The fireman brought their work home.
🥴
Firemen working from home..
Damn that fire station has been there for the longest its older than I am
Most ironic thing I’ve ever heard.
More like iconic hahaha 😂
Potentially, an electrical fire in one of the apparatus.
It was Engine 164 from what I heard

Pretty sweet retirement gig chief
This isn't an uncommon occurrence, however, it hurts on multiple levels
Dale Gribble did that once, as I recall.
Rusty Shackleford did it

SNARKY here have a awaed for being so kind...
sorry i had to say it, "somebody taking working from home to another level" no pun intended
Wieeeeerrddd fire station sprinklers didn't go off and no fire alarm, smoke alarms????!!!!!
I was an Explore scout at 164s in the 80s
Wow wonder how that happened? Strange place to have to deal with a fire.
I remember an old story from the 1970s about New York City firefighters who responded to a fire and left food cooking on their station stove...
Damn. Just thus year someone was killed a few feet away.
When Roland replied at 1:27 "Not at all, the arson investigators, or rather fire investigators..." I was shocked for a second.😯
"As usual, the TH-cam comments did not disappoint," Fire Marshall Bill.
They aint slick they wanted a new station😂
How was the response time? Probably need to increase funding to them to improve the response time.
NO!
No building is safe.
It also happened in Virginia also a while back I think last year
How ironic. Thank goodness no firefighters were injured.
Did an emissions engine regen and catch fire? Happens with semis.
No wonder the helicopter was up and about this morning
Gonna need a Memo; triplicate 😂😂
Was it an RTX rig that spontaneously caught fire? 🤷♂️
LACoFD doesn't have any RTXs, KME's and some Pierces only. By all accounts they are thinking Engine 164 caught fire, possibly electrical.
Not uncommon for apparatus to catch fire through a short
When you want to fight fires but still get out on time….
Electric fire truck?
This is like saying “Police station gets robbed.” 😆😆😆😆
Irony is that's happened too so.
Damn
Were the running any EV's in their fleet? That'd be my first question....
That’s LAFD running EV’s, no EV’s are on order for LACoFD right now, the cause of the fire was likely an electrical failure from engine 164 which happens to be a diesel unit
Didn’t they check the alarm batteries?

Someone must have left their Alamo beer sign plugged in...
"Fact. Volunteer firemen
receive sirens for their personal vehicles.
Fact. And we can use them
whenever we want.
Fact!"
@triangleEscape This is my purse give it back I am not used to you -Bobby (unplaigarized)

Yup a legit fire in a fire station in California. You know everything is honest there!
I am wondering if this station had an electric powered fire engine, I saw a video of the fire, and the last bay looked like it was shooting flames towards the other 2 bays. I am that no one got killed
This is SO Los Angeles
Investigators “ nothing going on here just a regular fire. I think the Mona Lisa was in there.” Woooo!!!
Glad everybody is OK, but those poor bastards are never going to live this down. .

Highly flammable water these days
Chet Elderson's faulty Alamo Beer sign started the fire
If you can't put out your own fire. What hope do the rest of us have? 😢
They put it out, just not their own station.
Who came to help🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🫘▶️ 0:11
Sounds like a inside job
Oh brother
Oh the irony!!!.... This is a king of the hill episode
Even if there was an indication of what caused it, they would not admit to their stupidity😂. This is too funny.
Oh those poor apparatus are gone
Ironic, they could save others but not themselves...
Too much taco bell 😂😅😂
This fire station has a lot of explaining to do.
Hmmm, 2 piers & now this, suspish
Well, that's embarrassing.
How the heck are ya gonna get fired on your day off!?
Friday!!!
They said I was out back stealing boxes.
Roland needs a better mic to block out the chopper noise 😖

How did the firemen set the fire station on fire?
The station was built in the 1950s so it could of been anything
It clearly looks like it was one of the firetrucks that caught on fire in the bay and spread.
@@FDNYNYPD91101 that firetruck has been having problems so it would make sense
Not a good look. I bet they hadn't changed the batteries in their smoke detectors.
chirp
chirp
chirp
Ummmm 🤨
You're Fired!
That like the wrecker towing a wrecker
Reminds me of that King Of The Hill episode
I hope they are beyond embarrassed
YOU GOT A CAUSE THEIR SHADOW....
In my 30 years of living never have I seen a firehouse catch fire what were the employees doing sleeping? Or on a call ?
well well well
Over-reaction on equipment. Do they need that many fire trucks for this fire? Probably not.
There are only 3 or 5 per truck. They don't necessarily need the truck but they need the manpower from that truck...
Were they drunk? High? Incompetent armatures?! How was there not one working smoke detector in the whole fire station?!
Isn’t it Ironic
2024 isn't over yet folks!!!
Insurance scam needed remodeling
you are projecting ..
DAMM HOW N THA HELL DAT HAPPENED N DEN IT IS CALL A FIRE STATION
Station 51 kmg375
Slow response
How in the hell does that happen? Damn, they are hard sleepers and should be fired.
You should be fired
They should be fired? You're a moron.
THA FIRE STATION IS ON FIRE SO WHO N THA HELL THEY CALL FOR HELP A OTHER FIRE STATION
they must need new equipment and a station house. that's how the government does it!!!!
Why do people continue to post utter bs like this? Grow up.
The irony
😮unbelievable! Only in California. Just like the majority of the crime is happening in the direct vicinity of the police station. Its all a mirage😂
got plenty of effort from fire department, how much you wanna bet they did not stand around for an hour plus talking about it before trying to do something....
DEI in action...
Guys we need hazard pay and fire hours to continue to live above our means and nothings burning,… (capt) you guys know what we gotta do,…….
Or, unless they're at the grocery store... Like a police department getting burglarized...
I wish they would give my family $billion today.
Scandalous vatos.
Cooking carnitas or what?
So lets wait a minute? Paid firehouse and not a single piece of apparatus was removed? Smoke alarms? Hmmmm?
They couldn’t self respond?
