- John Moreland performing a new song in a solo show in Portsmouth, NH before he headed off to Newport Folk Festival 2015. Set was drawn mainly from an excellent new album, High On Tulsa Heat", but this is a newer song waiting to be recorded and released some day.

One of the most talented song writers iv ever come across. Inspirational stuff.
So perfect my man!! Beautifullllllll!!!!!!
At 64 I have come to believe that if I had it all to do over again I wouldn't make the same mistakes. I'd make different mistakes.
You are right about that..people don't look it at that way.
I'm 55 and every mistake I made (even the ones that happened decades ago and I'm still embarrassed about) led directly to make me the person I am today. I'm still messy as hell inside but I'm slowly getting right with myself and the world.
If I hadn't been so self-righteous in the past I wouldn't be as humble as I'm becoming now. I treated people like annoyances but a recent revelation that is changing my whole world is that "people are people." Everyone shares complexity, nuance, good and bad, annoyance, shame, fear, joy. All those and more everybody feels.
I'm not so damn different as I thought i was. I'm unique of course, but not really that different. So, if I had the chance, I'd probably make many/most of the same mistakes again. I like myself overall and I wouldn't want to fuck with becoming a totally different person!
Someday some twelve year old kid is going to find this and have their life changed. What the heck am I saying?! Someday is everyday.
Joshua Yates I failed to snag Tix for his stop here in Boston tonight with Iron and Wine. That's going to be a damn fine show!
Daaaaaaaamn... I didn't even know they were doing shows together! Sam and John!
By the by... this is my favorite video of him.
Joshua Yates Thanks! It's a great little listening room.
Good thought brother!!!
what words....and the grit and pain in his unusually grand voice.
So much damn talent in that guy.
you probably dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me atm then you can stream all the new movies on Instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend these days =)
@Hudson Wells yup, have been using Instaflixxer for years myself :)
wonderful , as a live performer not many can better , if you get the chance to see John go you will never regret it
Best I heared since listening to early Dylan. Bless you.
I like revisit song ,I listen t000 a year
Did you hear the devil laughing
From the ambulance passing
Or was that just my troubled mind?
Don't you wanna shake the ground
And tear heaven down
And raise your fist to the guilty sky
I've been pouring whiskey in the wind
Burning pictures of my best friends
Until the ashes cover me like rain
And you meant something to me then
And you mean something to me now
But some things ain't meant to stay the same
So bless our busted hearts
Just sinking into the dark
Mourning these wasted old sparks
That all disappear
I never meant to be
Your woe-is-me emergency
But I ain't dead yet
And I know there ain't no glory in regret
Don't it feel like the truth
Comes at the price of your youth
When the hell you've paid ain't quite enough
And God's been making deals
While we're down here spinning our wheels
And using up our little share of luck
Well, you beg the world to know your name
And you get glitter spilling out your veins
Turn turn turn, babe, I guess it's true
'Cause I was standing on a dead end drive
With my pride, thumbing for a ride
And somehow I ended up next to you
So bless our busted hearts
Just sinking into the dark
Mourning these wasted old sparks
That all disappear
I never meant to be
Your woe-is-me emergency
But I ain't dead yet
And I know there ain't no glory in regret
Don't it feel like the truth
Comes at the price of your youth
Man, I would sell nearly anything I own to see this man play live. What a cool guy.
I've been fortunate to catch him a couple times in the Boston area, solo. Love to see a full band show someday!
@@HearAndTherePhoto Lucky! I just found him yesterday, for the first time. He's making 2020 easier to manage. I hope, for all our sake, that 2021 is kind and we can see him play live soon.
This song is hitting pretty hard right now. Past week been brutal. “Rise your fist to the GUILTY sky.” Love how he puts it like there’s no question to it.
What a Great Poet and talent thanks!
Words sparky in the tradition of Dylan and Cohen. Once every few years .... John Moreland
wow just him and his guitar but it is sending vibrations to my heart wow the lyrics..
I'm crying nuff said
One of a kind
I love his music. So real coming from an old soul other music today shouldn't be called music
How can the love of someone and their music provoke such idiotic statements as hate on other music.... You people make me want to throw up. Music is a beautiful amazing space that can be filled with colors you cannot see or even understand. That doesn't make it "not music".
Something in that Tulsa water....
Wow...songwriting is an artform!
Mind Blown!
Voice of a angel
He is so good
Amazing
Very interesting picking style!
That’s some mighty fine picking their just sing into that little talking box
Adorei o estilo de John
as a guitar player... how the hell does he get so much sound out of *TWO FINGERS*
Crazy, isn't it?!
Just finger picking, man !
hahahaha i was wondering the exact same thing
I realy wanna hear the lyrics
Why has he sped this up?
Did you hear the devil laughing
From the ambulance passing
Or was that just my troubled mind?
Don't you wanna shake the ground
And tear heaven down
And raise your fist to the guilty sky
I've been pouring whiskey in the wind

And I know there ain't no glory in regret
Don't it feel like the truth
