From what I have heard wordpress is the way to go for employment. It is more in demand because a lot of people don't want to focus on making business websites which they consider boring. Some people fall into a trap of making websites that are basically like web apps because they are more interesting. In reality the demand in the industry is for boring everyday business websites. You would think the more intellectual or difficult something is the more you would get paid or hired for it but in the case of web development they really need people to make basic websites.

I'm also learning wordpress development and MERN both in parallel but still don't know which is more fruitful

MERN if you want to do a startup but wordpress if you want to get your foot in the door for a job.
