Hua Chenyu, music composer, singer, concert director. Most popular performer in China, his concert in the largest stadium in China, tickets of 100 thousands per night sold out within mins. Many fans from around the world flew to China fr his Mars concert yearly.

Hua Chenyu is one of the most amazing and influential singers and songwriters in China today! His highly creative music draws you into his philosophical and surreal world that ignites one's imagination and stimulates their senses. He has over 30000000 followers in China. While this is his performance from five years ago, it still amazes people! I hope you can share more of his performances with everyone.

Hua Hua is the most amazing performer I've ever seen. Sometimes, an artist I like is performing in San Francisco which is less than 2 hour drive but I don’t feel like going that far. For Hua Hua, I flew from California to Wuhan, China just to see his concert in May, to Beijing to see his concerts in September and I am getting on a plane next week to see his next concert in Guangzhou. His concerts are so worth it! ❤

Hua Chenyu is one of the top artists in China, composer/musician/performer, HuaHua can sing rock, pop, rap, beautiful ballads and even operatic pieces, you never know what you're going to get with him. Nunchucks is a cover from a straight rap song that HuaHua rearranged this way as per the rules of the show. He's 33 now. Not even in my Top 60 Hua Hua Performances. He sings Rock, Rap, Reggae, Pop, SynthPop, Electronic, Ballads, Accoustic, Broadway, Traditional Chinese. He plays multi instruments, and is also a Composer, Arranger and Mentor to younger/less established singers.
I'd recommend "To be free" or "Here we are", or "Jackdaw Boy" or "Alien" or "Qi Tian" or "I am what I am", or "Nanping Evening Bells" (with Su Shiding) or "Dancing Diva" or "Dad I'm home" 😭 or "King's and Beggars" or "Airplane Mode" or "Flying Conductor" or "Contra in the Wild" - Accoustic or "Codename Contra (Electronic) or..... he is a combination of Freddie Mercury and David Bowie.. THAT good.
His Concerts this year have been a feast for the eyes as well as the ears.
Just listened to 'To be Free'. Now on my Favourites list - it gave me chills!! To be fair though, with every song I hear HuaHua sing, it also goes onto my Favourites list. Hopefully one day I'll be able to attend one of his concerts. I'm already taking a night class to learn Mandarin (Pinyin). Greetings from New Zealand.

One of the best Artist out there. He has his own concerts called Mars Concerts. They
sell out in minutes 100,000. He is one of a kind. On this same show he does many
different styles. If I could see any artist it would be him and I am a US senior.

Hua Chenyu is such an amazing composer, singer, and all-round talented guy, the Chinese are so lucky to have such a gem of a performer in their country, he's a real perfectionist and his performances and concerts I have watched on youtube throw most western acts into the shade.

Oh, gosh. Where to start! Looking back on my own journey down the rabbit-hole, I would first concentrate on his Super Boys time. HuaHua first came to the notice of the Chinese public when he entered, and won, the Super Boy competition in 2013. Award-winning Chinese director, Lixin Fan, was asked to do a documentary about the competition, concentrating on the final 10 boys. There is an article about the documentary in POV magazine, Canada’s Documentary Magazine - Super Boys Lixin Fan Talks I Am Here, which is well-worth reading first! Lixin Fan states that the documentary, I Am Here “conveys the greater ideological movement in China’s transition from the collective to the individual as told through the story of ten young men competing in the nation’s most popular televised singing competition, Super Boy.” The full documentary, I Am Here, is one and a half hours long. I don’t know if you will be able to reduce the viewing time down to three 30 minute segments to show as a reaction, or just play it all at one? It gives a clear picture of what Hua and the other contestants went through during the nearly four months that the contest took.
I wish I had the words to express how I felt watching it. It was a gruelling experience for the young men who took part. Everything they did was videotaped 24/7, even inside their sleeping quarters. There was hardly any privacy afforded. So many young men with dreams of being singer and achieving stardom. So many dreams quashed by the realities of the competition.
Hua Hua has come a long, long way since his days in the Super Boys competition. There is a great interview with Hua Hua, which leads in to his Fake Monk video, (another song from the Singer 2018 competition), in which he speaks of his childhood and the challenges he faced - “Hua Chenyu Fake Mon and interview” and is 9.48 mins long. It helps give a clearer understanding of why he found it so difficult to interact with others at first, and his shyness. The love and support he received from the judges and other competitors in Super Boys helped him a lot.

Aloha Alex! I think HuaHua, Dimash and Forestella are my favorites because they are such unique artists who know how to mix genre styles and are the best at making covers into their own masterpieces! Of course no one can beat Dimash as he is the choir, band, ethnic colours and special effects all in one tall body. Yet HuaHua is just as masterful in mixing genres into songs, very theatrical and loves to have the audience take part in his songs at concerts too. Forestella is a male quartet out of S. Korea but are supreme masters of cover arrangements and harmonies. Like Dimash, they can sing pretty well in many languages; only better! All these artists have the power to not only make you feel the songs but also make it a beautiful journey when they take the stage! Good luck in going down each of their rabbit holes!
