I really think Mojang should do more of these simple quality of life changes, as there's so mamy things that just need a little bit of reworking rather than massive content updates.
I agree wholeheartedly. Unfortunately, there is a more vocal part of the playerbase that would rather complain about what they don't like instead of praise what they do like. As I am writing this comment, Laynce just got to the part in the video where he addressed this, and I appreciate that so much.
You're the first Minecrafter I've come across who shares this sentiment; it feels rare to find other players who appreciate and enjoy the game for what it is. Thank you for making this video. I too am also waiting for the full-release to try out any 1.21 features, and I am so excited for it!

I love that l the quality of life updates that they have been doing recently, especially the recent update with cherry trees, armour trims and a reorganized creative inventory
I’m still kinda iffy on the new dungeons. It’s another one of those “just because you can” additions like the sniffer. Both have valid reasonings and I actually like both of them but idk, feels very random to me. Not sure how to explain it. That said, I do agree with everything you said here. I just wish we had an “update” update. It’d be difficult to do (I’m not sure if I want the old mobs to have new animations for example) but I think it’s been a long time coming.
An update exclusive to revamping already existing features would be very nice, I agree. We've been seeing Mojang slowly do this with time as well, which is awesome. I feel that the sniffer adds a whole new element to the game besides some new plants. People forget about the story element. We've seen some awesome sniffer related builds, and community creations as a result! As a builder, having new plants makes me incredibly happy too. I just wish we got a few more... The trial chambers are a really great addition for players looking to explore randomly generated structures. It also gives a good "level" if you will to train lesser experience players in combat! But if you don't care for the adventure element and like to focus on building- it's a terrific source of copper as well XD
Heavily agree. The Trial Chamber is definitely better than the Sniffer, as it seems to at least seems to provide unique rewards, but so far we're yet to see any strong reason to seek those rewards outside of novelty.
I still think they could improve the wolf armor through giving it armor tiers instead of just it being leather armor for wolves. only being able to take 64 damage worth of hits for durability is a pretty big downside if you end up in a cave surrounded by mobs. You wolf is going to die in that situation with only 64 extra health. I would give it an iron variant at the very least to double that to 128 or just let us enchant it with unbreaking to reduce the armor's durability loss on damage. For now wolf armor only really seems helpful for allowing your wolf to fight a few zombies or spiders at night around your base with you instead of actively going out on adventures.
I have a feeling it will be more useful than we think. My test showed them to be quite powerful with armor on. Plus you can repair it! Adding unbreaking would be wonderful though you’re right. As far as an iron variant goes, that would pretty much render the scutes useless if not only it was harder to get, but also less powerful
The new textures looked goofy to me at first. I watched Xisumavoid's new snapshot video and... eh. Wasn't a fan. But... THEY'RE SO CUTE WITH THE ARMOR ONNNN!!!!!
Im torn about the update speed for minecraft. On one hand, i loce all these QOL features like chiseled bookshelves, hanging signs and dog variants, on the other, they happen about once a year so by the time all my mods update I've gotta update the game again XD Many of the mods I have are quality of life anyways, so hopefully as these changes progress, I wont need nearly as many of them. I really hope they add variants to other mobs as well, and that they add rope just so i dont have four different types of rope each from different mods. Edit: i want to clarify that I'm not complaining about the way mojang is doing things. I adore the recent changes and personally love small updates. The only two big updates i personally want to see are the end getting revamped to have a little more life and the oceans getting a few biomes and some more variation. Im totally happy with everything theyve added so far and like the current speed, as it seems to work well for them and thats what matters.
Totally agree. Really love the direction they’ve gone with the update cycle, but it does make me sad that now I have to wait for all my 200+ mods to update 😭 And then adding so many variations of the same thing is a little annoying. There is a mod I believe to blacklist items and blocks so you could theoretically get rid of one of the blocks permanently!
i think the problem with the recent updates isnt that they arent adding enough features, its that theyve been focusing on things that nobody cares about. this is definitely a good change though
@@dianaisnthere I would disagree. Sure, none of those creatures were explicitly asked for, but they each add something that makes the game feel more alive. Sniffers add story elements, introduce a new system for digging up new fauna. They very well could add more plants in the future. Camels give an alternative to horses that can carry multiple people, something that previously could only be achieved with a boat in water. Allays admittedly are a little underwhelming, but the concept was there. If it was a little more user friendly, this could have made for a fantastic alternative to redstone sorting systems- and to an extent, can almost do that. Wandering traders offer a way to get hard to get resources, and have proven themselves incredibly useful in both superflat, and large biome worlds. AND are the best early game source of leads... Bees gave us the ability to create honey blocks, which are a really powerful tool in redstone machines and minigames- not to mention a really nice translucent decorative block. Honeycomb allows us to wax copper, and adds a much needs yellow/orange building block. Every one of these mobs also has a lot of character. Sniffers are a beloved creature, and have allowed for some awesome stories because of their existence. Allays and bees are very cute, and I've seen plenty of story building with both mobs. Traders are the first villager type to spawn separate from villages, opening up the possibility for a new random structure in a future update. Probably the biggest upside of these mobs though, is it gives the community something to build off off. People have learned to use the mobs as the base game provided- but there are plenty of additions that people have modified them, offering even more variation. Sure none of the mobs are perfect, but they have so much charm and potential, I would say they yes- they weren't asked for; but they are absolutely welcome features. :)

Actually, the copper bulb tick feature was removed, despite massive protest. The official reason was consistency with other redstone components, but RS users called hard BS on that. The real reason is parity with Bedrock, where odd tick usage is literally impossible due to funky coding.
