    This is a great video - I would really appreciate it if you explained some of the choices you made, like why you went with Huscarls in particular, or why you educated your heir yourself as a Diplomacy character instead of sending him to someone with a Stewardship educational trait. Understanding why you make certain choices helps us learn the game better!
    Loved this video, thank you so much for helping me optimize my Dyre play throughs!

      Genius trait gives buffs to education
      Sometimes it is better to educate with genius guardians even if they have wrong education type

    Would love to see you do a playthrough based on your "Master Assassin" character! Preferably in the middle/eastern parts of the map outside of Europe for added spice.
    I know CK3 is very western-focused, but I'd like to see more visibility for the middle/eastern entities and cultures as well.

      Thanks for your recommendation! I’ll think about what I could do! Maybe a Christian spy family scheming to take over the outremer empire or something?

      @@breadgodgaming That sounds interesting! Personally, I've had a ton of fun using Intrigue for female characters in male-dominated societies by getting Seductress through the character creator.
      My latest run was a Wu Zetian-inspired, Sadistic Han countess in 1066. I seduced the king of Mjinjaa, killed him, and then claimed the throne from my child after being declared as regent.
      From then on, I then did the same with other neighoring dukes/kings, then getting rid of my own children to consolidate my main kingdom under one banner.

      @@pancakes4193 that sounds awesome. As long as you’re youthful, you can grab a ton of land that way!

      @@breadgodgaming Yes! You do have to be quick with creating Kingdom titles though so your new vassals would think you're the rightful liege, so it's often better to secure several duchies first and be very calculated with your disinheritance.
      I would say Sadistic and Fecund are necessary traits so you can simultaneously push out children and easily get rid of them once they inherit the lands of their fathers.

      @@pancakes4193 I did a few runs of a christian in jerusalem but clan governments don't have 'title revocation' protection so it became a mess. I think I will have to look into another run haha

    The letter Þ/þ is pronounced like the 'th'-sound in 'thing', btw, not like a 'p'.
    Also, Ð/ð is pronounced like the 'th'-sound in 'the'. A more technical explanation is that Þ/þ is voicelsess, whereas Ð/ð is voiced.

    Do you think that using your subjugation on Khazaria would perhaps be a better use of the CB? It is more land after all, the Rurikids can be broken apart in multiple wars. That's what I do anyway. Good guide.

      Thank you for your kind words!
      Because I knew I was going to transition to feudal, I wanted only a de jure Empire of Russia realm since that will reduce factions and let me transition more smoothly. I probably could subjugate all of Khazaria and get two empires but that would require more gold imo and my ruler's life probably did not have enough in him to get there

    I wonder if you could become greatest of khans with a realm just like this to make your Kievan Rus' borders look like the 1800s Russian Empire

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Wow that would've been a great idea actually, I wish I could add that as a section to this video! What's interesting is the 'Steppe' region starts from empires of Khazaria and Volga-Ural and eastward, so I could just conquer any county within those de jures and set it as my capital; and they're right next to Russia! Then, I just need to educate a future heir with a Mongolic heritage culture, become tribal government again, and then I can become Genghis Khan :) At some point they changed the requirement where I don't even need Tengrism for the religion, so I could stick with my reformed Asatru to become Genghis khan as well!

    Another great video BreadGod. Is cost the only reason you favor Huscarls over Varangian Veterans?

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you for the kind words :) Yes, cost is the biggest reason since I knew I was going to switch to feudal. Until I get my income way higher than my military cost, I will keep using huscarls but then I will switch everything over to veterans since they're stronger and have pursuit instead of screen. If I was going to permanently stay tribal, then doing 50/50 huscarl/veterans or 100% veterans would be fine

    Why Huscarls over Varangian Veterans? Huscarls are just worse VV's IMO.

    • @breadgodgaming
      @breadgodgaming  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I agree with you 100% veterans are better than huscarls. I only used huscarls purely for the prestige cost difference. Since I want to finish my goals in one lifetime, every bit of prestige counts and I had a lot of things I needed to spend lots of prestige on like 'by the swords' and two elective laws is already 10,500 prestige.

    it's neither russia nor he's russian. Distinguish russia and Ruthenia as you do with Rome and Romania

    • @richard1493
      @richard1493 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ruthenia is the Latin name for the Kievan Rus’, the precursor state for modern Russia. When you consider that the in-game culture group is called Russian and that the modern English demonym for the Rus’ is also Russian, the difference is pedantic. It’s just a name in a different language.

    • @takashi1745
      @takashi1745 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@richard1493 the point is that adjective russian is associated with modern russian state and people, though it's used to identify Rus' state and people as well who are related as much as Rome with Romania do. That's why for more clarity it would make more sense to distinguish those two phenomena to not confuse people.
