As a currently non-religious but spiritual person who was 'raised up' Roman Catholic, being emotionally repressed/suppressed was absolutely devastating to my personal development and ability to connect with other people - it was essentially a spiritual poisoning. Having ADHD certainly didn't help either but that's completely beside the point. I've only really been able to speak on and name all my feelings recently during my early 30s and thank goodness for that slow change, but the real point here is that it's never too late to get to know yourself!!! It is beyond integral for all persons to understand and internalize. Small story and maybe some of you can relate, but besides what went on during Sunday school was that as a young girl from 5-18yo, my dad would become furious that I would cry, either because something had upset me like a verbal fight with a friend at school, he had been screaming at me for something irrelevant/something I didn't understand because nobody had explained it to me. You know, you did literally anything and SURPRISE that's not how you were supposed to do it and also it's the worst thing ever possible that you did do it and the world will consequently end very soon. Shaming. Those sorts of things. However, my dad himself went through that crap and worse with HIS own father and as you know, generational trauma is devastating. Luckily my father is NOT his father, and as the years have passed and I spent almost 5 years attmepting to avoid contact as much as possible, we've been able to have many numerous discussions about our relationship, my dad's emotions and thought patterns, and the relationship he had with his own father. Both of us have grown and I'm proud to have him as my dad. Things are not black and white and I wish everyone luck in their own journeys knowing how difficult it is and that sometimes resolutions cannot be achieved in our own lifetimes. Sorry for the rant, I just want to give folks hope and am seemingly on one today lol. Thank you so much for this video and I wish I had learned about the Medicine Wheel and it's teachings much earlier on in my life but as you said, you have to keep learning every day! :) -Jolyne from Texas
Excellent work ! Miigwetch for your teaching this is really helping getting the missing pieces to full be myself. Very spiritually connected to the simple beautiful Mother Earth and the Creator! Much love and blessings my brother!
Thank you my brother, wanted to share my deepest gratitude to you for explaining these teachings. My red Road is relatively new, but finding the deepest inner peace with each step I take on it. It’s a bit challenging finding information, to continue in my quest to better understand my Heritage, your channel has just lighten the load greatly, thank you again
Hey, great to come across your channel, I have recently started to become involved in a local Talking Circle with some amazing Indigenous friends here in Stratford, Ontario and I am helping to share educate and document. All the best!
Thank you Joel , Sir ! Very interesting , as was your Turtle Island story ! I know men in western Europe aren't supposed to cry (why, tell me) , but I read that non-corrupted men (I'm thinking this word describes best people closest to their original lives) cry freely whenever necessary for them to do so ; Europe has been so much perverted, and had taken those (perverted) values over-seas ... Your people "benefitted" largely ...
Greetings from hungary :) while living in canada a cree shaman told me about it and im glad to be able to review it with you :) thank you so very much :) We also dont have gender in hungarian. There are historians who believe we are related. :)
