@clippersown Yes you can put in regular AA's. 8 of them. All of the FlySky ones will run off of 8xAA's. I like to use Lipo batteries in mine so I soldered a lead to it.
@kenv98 get the firmware flash kit from the OverkillRC website. $25 and you can have tons of mixing features 120% trim instead of the default 30-40%, you can remap any button and with the right receiver up to 8 channels
@nxcmka if you're running nitro/gas, your only battery would be the rx battery and if that dies then your failsafe wont have any power to work (only happen if you dont charge your battery between long run periods). if you're running electric, your car will stop anyways if your batt dies. Failsafe is just for if your kit gets outta range of your radio.
@modernsniper95 traxxas products are made with waterproofing measures anyways. the receiver is sealed inside a waterproof case so its automatically waterproofed.

Most newer RC uses Li-POs which doesnt completely Run Out most likely your ESC will have a Cut-Off which prevents it from Using your MOTOR but it doesnt cut the power in the BEC which in case will still power your reciever + Servo. In NITRO Cars the batterys doesnt run out, They start to lose power which in case will feel like a Loss in Servo Movement and Power by That time you will know you need Fresh Batts anyway... In BOTH Cases the Fail Safe will work.

I've discovered the new boat I bought at the same time as the transmitter doesn't have reverse function and my crawler ESC is water damaged and reverse isn't working on it.
How can I make this radio make my crawler back- up, go backwards, reverse etc? It just stops. I had my crawler set up on my heli DX6i and I know the truck CAN go backwards. Please help! Also it's like the forward is always engaged. The Truck just takes off when the trigger is neutral. I have to hold the brakes to make it stand still.

He had the same TX/RX Combo? GT3B? On the RX there is a tiny little button called "F/S Set" at the left of the Status LED... To set the Fail Safe you need to Press the Brake until you set it at the desired Position and Push the F/S Button on the RX until the LED Blinks a couple of Time then Test it! Turn off the TX and the RX Should Automatically Apply the Brakes... I dunno how much possible is to run out Flat a Battery I believe at less than 4v Most 6v Servos run very Poorly and its Noticeable.

Like, let's say I have an rc boat and a buggy and wanna run my boat but the TX is connected to the buggy, would i be able to bind the TX to the boat's receiver without losing the settings for my buggy settings? I've got the same transmitter and trying to use it on an SCX10 with a taser 60 amp brushed speed control. I've got the exponential's set to +100% and the throttle is still way too touchy and sensitive. -100% makes it go full throttle immediately. I need the throttle to be softer at the lower range of trigger movement.
Great video. My question is how far is the range? I have a 100+ mph r/c car and I have problems with the range of my current Traxxas transmitter and receiver. I need a range of 3/4 of a mile. Will the FlySky reach that far? What's your opinion?
I'm really not sure about the range but since it uses frequency hopping that should be less prone to interference. 3/4 mile is far! I don't know if you would even see it lol. You may consider the older GT3 which lets you change the receiver/transmitter module to something with better range
@kenv98 u mean the useless PDF file? yeah.haah i ripped it open and found 4 solder point near the..2.4 module part? the one where has the grey wire attached to the antanna; 'RST', 'GND', '5V' and 'SWIM". trusting my instincts, i guessed RST was reset,GND, ground , or negetive .5V being positive and 'SWIM' being something that made me go "WTH?" i connected RST with GND and it made the LCD just go off. i tried holding it there for awhile ( who knows, maybe it works like binding)

Hay kenv98, I have a question to ask of you about this product. At this time I am having issues with my steering on my clod. I bind the tx to the rx like you did on this video. Is there something that I wrong? Now I did charge up the tx. Could my 3 cell lipo battery my have something to do with it?
i was out at the track, racing my nitros a few days ago and my mate had his battery go flat in his nitro and lost all controll. He had a fail safe in and it didnt turn on so the fail safe might not always work.
@yankphan100 Never tested the range. But never had it lose signal. Don't have a traxxas transmitter so I can't comment if it's better. But I am happy with the FlySky stuff. I only have FS for my cars.
Oh, now I know what throttle delay does. The new one doesn't have it, but if you afford this radio for an electric car you're probably using a brushless sistem, and lately ESC's have throttle delay, they are responding to the amount of grip that the car has.
but if the car battery dies, how can the servo move to fail safe position with out power??? so in my opinion it would stay were it was but then again thats just my thoughts, i could have no idea

Yes, it's the same is turning off the TX. If the RX senses it isn't talking to the TX anymore, it'll go to failsafe position.

Yeah most ESC's will have throttle delay and even ABS now. So I guess that's why they took it out.

i can't figure out how to make this controller use reverse on the throttle. All works fine except going backwards.... what am i doing wrong?
