Honestly? my advanced biology teacher assigned this video and I looked at it and was like “absofuckinglutely not” but as I watched it I started to understand more and more about what we are learning in class. I, a 17 year old senior, give this video an A+. it was clear, concise, and it kept my attention. Thank you for your service.
I miss blowing off School, aw you adorable little drug n sex exploring shits! oh god.. I just got hit with a horrible reality. I have only a decade before my daughter pays me back in spades for my transgressions
Mr. Andersen, you are an awesome teacher.. clear, engaging and mindful to apply the concepts along the way to construct a bigger picture where one not only learns about the components, but also how the parts add up and apply to the bigger picture! So much more informed and confident in understanding Chem. Excellent teaching! You are a real blessing! Thank you!
Ok, so I've been googling this all day to do my homework in biology and this is the first thing I've found that I can understand. I need you as my biology teacher!

Wowwwww!!!!! I just learned something that I've been studying for 2wks in a couple of minutes.. Thank u Mr. Anderson....I've been attending my local college for 2yrs now...And my major is Nursing.. When I first started BIO...1yr ago I started watching ur tutorials... Every time I watch , I learn....
I literally want to cry. Years of chemistry classes and I never truly understood what makes acids acidic and bases basic or even what pH is really a measure of. Thank you thank you thank you!!
Best lesson I’ve seen so far! Thank you 🙏🏼 and congrats, of course! You’re one of the bests in REALLY explaining, and that’s cause you REALLY understand hahah
I could have understood pH a long time ago if teachers would have just broken it down. I had no idea it stood for power of hydrogen. Teaching from the beginning it was makes your videos so easy to understand!
Hello Mr Anderson, I hope your day is well. This was an absoloutely awesome video as usual. You are one of the best at explaining things on here. Sending lots of love from England. Have a fabulous day
Thanks ! No hysteric blablabla, no stupid music, no strained vioce. Just sincere teaching , offering understanding. So nice to, for once, hear an american voice that is relaxed and mellow !
This made my brain happy. I couldn't understand how the increase in hydrogen made the pH lower and the whole log thing was completely messing with me. Thanks for this, helped a lot.
Amazing clear explanation. Thank you! I would give you the best teacher of the year award without hesitation! Thank you and everyone on here who spares their time and explains difficult subjects to us xxxx
Dear mister Andersen, thank you so much! I understand this better than when my teacher explained it, and English isn't even my first language. Awesome!
Most Biology classes now days deal a lot with biochemistry. Some schools have realized the need to give kids chem first, before bio while others have still not caught on.
I'm so greatful for you and ur blogs. I'm a chemistry student in high school. And I had a little hard time understanding the material. Now I have a better understanding of the topic!
I love how everyone watching this video is trying to find a quick fix for the lack of studying we did in prep for our test in less than 24 hrs. we are in this together
"And every time we have a massive extension on our planet, it seems to be correlated with the acidification of our oceans. So that's pH. Pretty simple. And I hope that was helpful." What a great note to end it on!
So I'm taking an online BIO182 course, and in the lectures I'm provided with a video of the teacher in class and a slideshow. The video of the teacher giving the lecture has an auto-rotate feature which cuts off 80% of his examples on the board. Watching this 8 minute video gave me an enormous amount of insight when compared to an 60 minute video of a horribly shot lecture. Thank you.

Oh, to be young again!
Congratulations, you just explained in a ten minute video what my teachers have been trying (and failing) to explain for two weeks
I swear in my 12 years of schooling, no one ever told me pH refers to the power of hydrogen.
Same
literally it took me until college to find this out
I guess that would be confusing
Exactly. Whenever I want to deepen my understanding of Chemistry, I go to Paul's videos or Tyler Dewitt's videos. Very clear and extremely helpful.
How's that even possible
Soo, halfway into the video and all I can think is,
"I am so fucked for the test tomorrow."
How'd it go?
fleabagrusty I did great... I think...
Iva Got7Cookiez got a test tomorrow too.

I like how at the end he's like btw the thing that is happening now has happened before and coincides with a mass extinction, anyway bye!
isn't it sad? that not many people know this information?

This is super helpful. I am taking a college bio class in my late 40s and this was the best video I found online explaining
Pay attention kids... U need to know this to grow weed!!

We're wrapping up our studies on pH, acids, and bases. This has helped me clarify my understanding and go a little more in depth, thanks Paul!
Well I am the 1 in 10,000,000 that is not going to pass this exam.
Same
lmao
you can always be a comedian
i guess so too!
thanks men
I love how he says "I hope that was helpful." Mr. Anderson, you're ALWAYS helpful. Seriously, thank you so much =)
Mr Anderson's videos are incredibly high quality. Thank you for posting!

I've been studying pH since grade 8 n now I actually got the log part after 5 yrs... all the seniors salute u
Hello Mr Anderson, I hope your day is well.

Thanks ever so much for taking the time to help us/me understand the difference between acidity and non-acidity.
I was trying to review for an acid base unit in physiology. This was just what I needed, thank you!
This made my brain happy. I couldn't understand how the increase in hydrogen made the pH lower and the whole log thing was completely messing with me. Thanks for this, helped a lot.

The best explanation of the Ph scale EVER. Thank you sir!
Dear mister Andersen, thank you so much! I understand this better than when my teacher explained it, and English isn't even my first language. Awesome!
Mr. Andersen, you're a gem! Thank you!
In my 40s, I finally know what is pH, it is a tragedy and a comedy at the same time, thank you sir.
wow, i'm italian but i understood more than when my italian teachers speak. you're very very good!
Is it weird that all we learn in my BIOLOGY class is CHEMISTRY?
biology and chemistry are similar. you will learn some chem in bio and some bio in chem.
OH okay! Thanks!
Most Biology classes now days deal a lot with biochemistry. Some schools have realized the need to give kids chem first, before bio while others have still not caught on.
Biochemistry
+austin kolomalu Wait until you take Chemistry and all you learn is Physics
Thank you for a well-paced presentation. Unlike many frenetic presentations on TH-cam.
Succinct, and understandable. I appreciate you taking the time to teach others.
thank you for this, much rather watch a video than read paragraphs on a textbook :p
This made pH thing clear in 10 minutes after trying to catch it hours and hours. Excellent presentation !!!
Outstanding explanations. You are a wonderful teacher.
Watching this as a COVID-19 Assignment

You made this subject so easy to understand that I am a bit embarrassed I did not understand it before. Thank you.
This is one of the best explanations of pH I've ever seen. Thanks so much!
THIS IS LITERALLY THE BEST VIDEO OUT THERE
Excellent!!! Extremely informative, and useful knowledge.
Explanation of concept came from very depth really...Thanks and lots of wishes for expainers...
I'm so greatful for you and ur blogs. I'm a chemistry student in high school. And I had a little hard time understanding the material. Now I have a better understanding of the topic!
have heard about pH my whole life, in soo many classes, and never understood it till now, thank you so much! Surviving bio and chem thanks to you
Kind of get this , kind of don't
Ur the bad ass vato
You just helped in my Cambridge chemistry exam and only 3 hours are left. Thank you
it was so much fun to learn from you !!!
you really made me feel so happy thank you so much !
"p" is an old mathematical symbol meaning "to the negative log of"
pH=-log[H3O]
p means "potenz" and H is the H+ ion
I love how everyone watching this video is trying to find a quick fix for the lack of studying we did in prep for our test in less than 24 hrs. we are in this together
thank you, this video was probably better than my university lectures in half the time.
"And every time we have a massive extension on our planet, it seems to be correlated with the acidification of our oceans. So that's pH. Pretty simple. And I hope that was helpful."
What a great note to end it on!
Yep it's official I'm failing
did u fail?

Lol. Funny
This really helped me when I was struggling to comprehend what my textbook was saying! Thank you!
same here😂
I love how Mr. Andersen makes thinks easy and covers pretty much everything and all bases!! THANKS
That was an awesome explanation, thank you so much!
Great lesson! Really helped me out. Short and sweet but still nicely thorough
Thank you for helping me fully understand the concept of acids and bases.
I imagine a lot of people sitting in science class or staring blankly at a text book just wish they could hear this excellent explanation!
Just an amazing explanation.Honestly the best I’ve ever heared.
Thanks! finally a description of PH put into terms i can conceptualize
Amazing! This helped so much after understanding hydrolysis and dehydration synthesis! Appreciate your vids!
you are the best, period.

Nice explanation.
though he is a bio teacher but he is good at explaining any topic in science cause everything goes back to life!
Helpful, but still a little bit worried for my upcoming mid-terms. Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for all your help with bio and chem
Best teacher ever! Thank you Mr. Anderson for all the great help!
Always a nice and thoughtful presentation. Thanks.
ily your video helped me sm!! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for this. You have helped me a bunch with conceptualizing the physics and chemistry of the world.
What a Explaination..
Excellent ❗
Great video! Simple and easy to follow. Very well summed up
I love Mr. Anderson! Thanks for your help in my classroom!
Thank you for all of your videos, you made it simple for me.

Amazingly simplified - thanks again Mr. A
Welp, looks like I'm getting my teacher a nicely wrapped bottle of Jack Daniel's at the end of the semester.
Great explanation, really enjoyed the vid.
Thank you, Mr. Andersen, you are making things so much clearer and simpler - Ocean Science student. :-)
