I remember him closing a concert I saw him in back in 1991 and he performed this song as the last song of the evening. He got everyone in the crowd singing "Everywhere I go I see you" back and forth with one half echoing the other. And one by one each member of the band walked off the stage, and then he left. For two minutes the crowd sung this over and over again with one side continuing to echo the other side. No body was even concerned if he was coming back on the stage, but we were enjoying the joy of the moment singing this. And then after two minutes of echoing this back and forth Rich and the band came back on stage and closed out the concert. That was one of the most incredible moments I have ever experienced in a concert in my life -- maybe the best.... It's definitely left an impression on me forever.
Eventually, it was not the first time it happened, because I witness it happening at the concert I went to in Kansas. The crowd kept singing and the band came back on stage. What you saw on stage really was how Rich Mullins was off stage, caring, sweet personality, on fire for God. I know because I was grateful to see him a number of times on and off stage at events beyond the concerts he did. He genuinely cared about people everywhere he went and loved God.
My first mission was on the Pine Ridge Rez in South Dakota. The experience was overwhelming to me that it started a 34 year career as a missionary to 8 countries. God is awesome and His ppl are seeking....
Rich lived the Beattitudes and valued the poor, the minorities, the oppressed and saw Jesus incarnated in each precious soul...tell Jesus hey Rich...this world is not my home and as I age my heart aches to be in a better place
I feel sad I never got to see Rich in person. He certainly walked the talk! A genuine soul who lives on with all his music. I believe that one day I will meet him but until that day, I will continue listening to his music!
I wonder where the kids in this video are TODAY, and how their lives have been changed by knowing Rich Mullins. In the Infinite Hope one would hope they're all doing well, but may they Eternally be reminded that "Everywhere I go, I see YOU"...God Loves ALL the Little Children...Yellow, Red and Black and White they are Precious in His Sight...
Rich Mullins - one of the few christian artists of all time who has heard these words "well done, good and faithful servant" Mullins and Keith Green before him did what Jesus would do, I have not seen many people in my lifetime who do. Everywhere Mullins went, people saw Jesus, just as he saw Jesus everywhere he went. "Lord, Stamp eternity on my eyeballs" Jonathan Edwards
Yeah, I miss Rich, too -- we sorely lack him for the way he made us so uncomfortable, challenged, and yet blessed all at the same time. I can't think of anyone else who does that in Christian music today.
That young boy playing the hammered dulcimer, man I sure hope he continued to learn and play. He probably didn't know it at the time, but God sent a modern day John the Baptist his way, to brush his young life with the love of Christ.
I'm reading this as of Sun., Sept 20th, now 23 years after Rich crossed over. Your comment captures it all.. a modern-day John the Baptist, brushing those kids' lives with the Love of Christ. Rich wasn't afraid to let God have His Way with him. When I hear contemporary Christian music today, I can't help but think of those 'radical disciples Rich Mullins and Keith Green. Their songwriting, literally Biblical, lively, humorous and dead-serious all at once. Christian music has become feel-good pop. With the exception of David Crowder, it's hard to think of anyone today that could compare. .. i don't begrudge today's artists, however, as they are indeed reaching the masses. Just listen to Mercy Me's "Even If." That song just slayed me the other day. Yet we need to get back down to the nitty gritty of where God is leading us.. and praying to become willing to follow with abandon. Myself, in particular. I'll never forget driving through South Dakota after a retreat near the Crazy Horse monument. I had Rich on cassette, he was singing "Home.." and the earth seemed to sparkle, it was March or April and bits of snow glowed under the trees.. I haven't felt quite that way before or since. The earth was living, breathing and glorious in it's creation. Lord, please help us come Home to you.. Give us Purpose and a Hope. I never understood why people had trouble with the line ..'the Reckless Raging Fury' that Rich describes in "The Love of God" song. Those who have come through the shadows of darkness know that reckless fury. It is God chasing after us, to save us from this world of hopelessness and despair. .. Carry on, my friends.. Seek out the "Restless, Raging Fury" that chases us down. The 'Hound of Heaven' that Truly Is the Love of God.🦅🕊🦅
Anything by Rich Mullins eases my soul and inspires me. I thank God for lending us Rich yet I miss him for what we could've enjoyed. We'll get that in heaven for eternity. That's comforting! Until then we have what God let Rich give us while he was here.
The great prophet of the lord Leonard Ravenhill spoke often in his sermons of the need for an American Missionary to the Native American Reservations. He said this in the 1970's and 80's. IN 1992-93 until the day he died, Rich Mullins answered that call. He lived with Indians on a Navajo reservation in abject poverty for the last years of his life. That's how the church of Christ is supposed to work. There's so little of this kind of passion now, it's no wonder Christians are mocked today. IF we got serious, they would too. Ravenhill and Mullins both said "the world is not waiting for a new definition of Christianity; It's waiting for a new demonstration of CHristianity" Oh that such men would walk more openly today and not be shoved into obscure corners by out church leadership.,
When I first heard this song there was none of the talking in the beginning, there was just the sound of like a basketball hitting the floor and I just loved it. My son when he was younger could be heard coming home by the basketball hitting the sidewalk as he walked along. Such great memories
Wow, I love this video. I often wonder about these children. Where they are today, how their lives turned out. I was born in New Mexico in 1955. I have memories of scenes as these. A young Navajo lady helped my mom with my two siblings and I. She had her own room but went home with her family on weekends. She earned $25 a week. I loved her dearly, her name was Dolly or that's what we called her. She was beautiful. I love how Rich had such a heart for these precious people. Grateful for the heart of his close friends and fans who share these deep insights into his ministry. May God continue to enrich our lives through our love for God, Rich and the body of Christ everywhere.
Its not unusual to see Rich go where not too many others would go to reach the lost and forgotten....He also had a love for the native Americans ....I can agree with him in that they are a humble people ...Ive never met a greedy or ungrateful Native american ...Love you Rich ...
***** Depends on how wordly they are..if they've been taught the white man's ways and envy. Then of corse they will be the same as any other . I'm talking about real genuine natives that haven't been white washed.
I found Rich Mullins a few months ago. I got the Lufkin concert video after seeing snippets on TH-cam. I like his sense of humor & the way he talks to the audience. He was and still is a blessing to all who listen to his music. Listen well children.
This film moves my soul and stabs my heart with both joy and sadness. Well done! Well done. "Blessed are the filmmakers who create something so beautiful and compelling that even the blind can see it and the numb can feel it."
I learned of him very late but his choices seemed ones that I seemed unable to make. That broke my heart ❤desire a good testimony but many choices I have failed. Father help me...for Jesus 🙏🕊️
Jonatas Sineliz "Everywhere I go I see YOU..." Eternal Truth sung through the Father God's Son, His Holy Spirit and His earthly messenger, Rich Mullins.
Thanks:) So nice seeing Rich happy & playing with children; Made me cry, which I almost never do...Agree with 'Classic Royale': "Anything by Rich Mullins eases my soul and inspires me". If there's a heaven, I hope Rich has a wonderful, loving wife/soulmate and lots of children...
I loved this. It was great seeing the footage of them working on the Hogans Rich talked so much about. I couldn't fully picture it. Some of the beautiful comments here sent chills up my spine. I feel the same... Eased.
First came Rich Mullins is sadly when he passed away. Was at Clay Crosse Concert with Jaci Valesquez concert. Wish I could have seen him in concert. Rich didnt let things be watered down with politics but love of Christs heart.
@matt, thank you so much for posting this video. I still miss Rich Mullins after all these years. In fact, I miss him more now than ever. Thanks also for posting this, because it's one of my favorite songs of his. It's beautiful and haunting, even though it's a very "simple" song. But sometimes the most meaningful things in life are the simplest, right? God bless you -- thanks again!
Rich Mullins is an example of being totally sold out to and for Jesus, and this showed in his music and life. His testimony about the Bible, what it means to love as Jesus loves, and God's love for the broken is something that, sadly, so few churches teach now.
In the movie about Rich Mullins life, one of his brothers played the part of rich Mullins. It was interesting that the recording studios had a very difficult time getting Rich into the studios to record his music. He was so busy experiencing life. He became an active part of Native American communities in the south west.
Lord bless us like you did Rich please and with his work ethics his tireless hunger for truth and mercy and really helping not acting and sharing your love with every fiber of our minds bodies and soul at any cost . God Bless you Rich for showing us how it's done
Hey, thanks for sharing this video. I'd heard that near the end of his life Rich went to live with the Navajo nation on the border of Arizona and New Mexico, so he could teach music and minister to the tribe there, but I had never seen this video or any evidence of his time spent there. So cool to see what was on his heart and what was going on in his life just before the Lord called him home.
injunink13 Thanks for sharing, I hope and pray that the Eternal One strengthens you, the Elders of your community and the Purpose that we are all being called to...being One with LORD God...peace my Red Road Brother...Love and Peace for now and the Time to Come... Aho!
I didn't find his music til after he died, right before they released the Jesus CD & Homeless man video set. I like his music because it's "real", from the heart, pain and all. It bothers me that every church I've been in, the few that play Awesome God, only play the chorus. They miss the point entirely.
I came late to knowing even about him. May God help me to live a more faithful life. Been so far away need wisdom to come back to the Father. Humbled -Trials loom before me trust I get through this crucible...may I come forth as gold 🥇 see Your reflection in my ❤ especially keep my beloved kids entrusted to me...pets not there fault
Wow thank you,and here I thought I had seen ev everything and heard everything that had Rich Mullins had his hands on. Nice surprise. As I wait to see the Ragamuffins movie coming out in Jan 2014. His life story.
@shoelessman you can't or you won't upload them? It would be great to see what you have of Rich! If some external power, say a company Compassion International, is keeping you from posting them, that's truly unfortunate indeed! He has touched too many people not to be allowed for others to reep from the blessing of Rich's life before he passed.
This is a much better version. And it grips me every time I watch it. Thank you so much for posting it and the background behind it. Wondered about the locale, so that's nice to know. Do you know why they didn't let the video version continue into the reprise of "Step by Step" as per the full album? This song builds with such intensity and the transition into "By Step" brings such a release, I can't help but come away with a sense of feeling unresolved, unfinished. Course, that's probably due
I remember him closing a concert I saw him in back in 1991 and he performed this song as the last song of the evening. Was that at Bethel College in Indiana? They were an Amazing show. One of the highlights of my life
@@tmo.48 In my case it was at a local church in San Jose, California.
Eventually, it was not the first time it happened, because I witness it happening at the concert I went to in Kansas. The crowd kept singing and the band came back on stage. I remember.

He didn’t care about fame. He just wanted to share Jesus.
I still love Rich Mullins songs . They are ageless and very spiritual .
My first mission was on the Pine Ridge Rez in South Dakota. The experience was overwhelming to me that it started a 34 year career as a missionary to 8 countries. God is awesome and His ppl are seeking....

Rich Mullins-used powerfully by the Master to pen and perform inspiring masterpieces. Praise God.

Yeah, I miss Rich, too -- we sorely lack him for the way he made us so uncomfortable, challenged, and yet blessed all at the same time. I can't think of anyone else who does that in Christian music today.
Look into Andrew Peterson. He has been heavily influenced by Rich Mullins, & has the same direct but sanctifying manner.
2023 I still miss him too. Ragamuffin Archive is a good channel too for all things Rich👍🏿

"a modern day John the Baptist" I like that, and I think that is accurate.

Rich did not live in abject poverty, although he did give the lion's share of his income to the church there.
When I first heard this song there was none of the talking in the beginning, there was just the sound of like a basketball hitting the floor and I just loved it. My son when he was younger could be heard coming home by the basketball hitting the sidewalk as he walked along. Such great memories
I really think the world would be different today if Rich was still spreading his music among us.
#Facts
Did you ever wonder why God took Rich from us so early in life? It was a senseless accident, yet it happened for a reason.
Stopping by in 2020 on Easter Weekend. A unique time in our world, and yet God is working and moving.

There will only be one Rich Mullins
