These tapes are a superb accessory almost mandatory for any tarp immobilisation before repair.

I have used this on my own tarp and it works pretty well if you use it on both sides of the tarp. we live on an island and are prone to strong winds and heavy rains. You should check it every now and then though since the wind and rain might make the corners of the tape come up. My patches lasted a little over 5 months before I decided to go ahead and replace them...Hope this helps

Thanks. Took my new Gelert tent camping in Devon for the weekend, and a mouse chewed a small hole in the polyethelyne ground sheet. Will give this a go. You should consider selling this tape a rounded/oval patches on a removable backing, specifically to repair tent ground sheets.

Okay, you showed how well it is for shedding some water, but I am more interested in how strong the repair is. If you could have completed repair and attempted to pull apart to simulate windy conditions. As far as the waterproof, if you could complete repair and fill with water to show that it not only sheds but actually waterproofs.

I agree with Todd Rinde. I wanted to see the gentleman try to pull the tarp apart in the repaired areas. I also want to see him try to lift the tape on the edge and pull on it to see if it comes off. I suppose one could perhaps put duct tape over the 2 areas and it might hold long enough for the waterproof test.....but then it would be easy to lift the duct tape off. Respectfully: This video does not demonstrate anything of value, in my opinion.

Is the Tarp Tape equally effective on HDPE Tarps and PVC Tarps?

Could that tape be used for Heming or strengthening the edge of a tarp after cutting it down to size before putting in eyelets?

Does this tape only work on Polyethylene tarps? Or vinyl tarps too? What kind of adhesive is on the tape?
