Won't lie. I didn't know Tim had a stroke and seeing him in the Wheelchair broke my childhood heart a little but seeing how he soldiers on and still delivers a profound and wonderful show! This is a man to be admired
Not only that, but he's improved over time. I doubt he'll be 100% back to how he used to be, but for someone his age he really has had a very good recovery.
Roland Bat I've seen the new movie. I have to say I was not impressed. The new guy did not top Tim Curry's performance as the character It, in my opinion.
russell5078084 I have to agree, I saw the new film today and well.. I was disappointed in the second half of film. But don't get me wrong I thought the kids did an amazing job all the way through. It was Bills dialogue with the kids that didn't work for me. I thought it awkward and lacked that special touch that Curry brought with his interpretation of the character. Bills pennywise almost didn't make sense to me.. idk it just came off corny to be honest.
Roland Bat idk I thought it felt more true to the book. He seems like something pretending to be a clown and it made it more creepy. While Tim's pennywise was more of just a straight foward killer clown. Don't get me wrong though I liked both of them.
Chilling Stories 2017 I just think that Mr. Curry was able to project a lot of menace with his voice, that the new actor Dident even come close to. In fact his voice sounds all wrong for the character.
most people haven't seen it but i recommend the the color of magic, its a really good performance, even though its supposed to be sort of comedic its done well.
While I understand people feeling bad its not sympathy victims of diseases or accidents need, its accommodation. Well, maybe in the beggining when I had my stroke sympathy was fine, but sympathy can be addictive and does not help people trying to get better.
As a stroke survivor myself and a huge Tim Curry fan, it makes me so happy that he has refused to let his disability keep him from doing what he loves to do. Tim is the man!!
MagicMatson69 My best friend went; she got to meet the cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show but he was not well enough to join them during the meet and greet with the fans. lol this is a great interview! Curry is hilarious! Loved when he was talking about Georgie and the spider in the TV mini-series. Thanks for sharing guys!
I'm so glad Tim likes bills rendition of pennywise, he's been getting a lot of hate on how he isn't anything like the original, but the thing is HE ISN'T TRYING TO BE LIKE THE ORIGINAL
I'm also glad he did! His rendition of Pennywise is beyond iconic and is the most memorable thing from the mini series, so it's a though act to follow and I think it was a wise choice to not try to imitate Tim's performance but to do something else entirely.
Trying to imitate an iconic performance rarely goes well. Of course, a fresh take can fall flat, but I feel like this isn't one of those cases. I'm glad Bill took it in a different direction because it works.
Yeah, I believe he had 2 in a short period of time. I was shocked when I saw he was announced for this convention, but I'm happy he was still witty as ever.
Right!!! I'm sitting here crying and smiling at the same time 😅😢 I think I heard but I (of course believing he is invincible lol) but I didn't realize how serious it was... he is so ICONIC
My heart fucking BREAKS everytime I see him like this. One the greatest actors EVER reduced to such a low state. I am glad that he can, at least, carry on a conversation.
He has actually improved in the past few years. For someone his age, he's doing very well after such a terrible misfortune and I hope he continues to get better.
great to see Mr. Curry speaking! I'd heard about his stroke and I thought we'd never hear from him again. He's in much better condition than I realized.
TIM CURRY if you ever read this i like to say thank you brought out the best Penny Wise mate and gave the character it's best ProFormance none will ever do what you have done i will always remember that tone in you're voice specially in that line (HEYA GEORGIE) you are true legend mate so thank you from Australia
Watching a video of Tim from 2014 and then watching this? He's worked so hard and has come so far in his speech that this just warms the cold recesses of my heart. Class act all the way!!!
Tim's whole career he put out literally nothing but first class performances. After his stroke he could have recoiled and hidden from the world, but he continues to enrich our world and live the best life he can. Full respect Tim for all that you've done and all that you are.
What makes me so happy, more than anything is seeing that Mr Curry is really coming back from his stroke, his speech is persistently stronger and faster every time he comes out in public. I miss his acting so much.
Your Pennywise role will never be challenged Mr. Tim Curry! You forever KO'd that character and no one will ever come close in emulating your performance!
When I was a small, terrified 90's kid.....Annette O' Toole, John Ritter and Richard Thomas were my highly unlikely, but very much cherished "heroes". Total badass's protecting me from sudden heart attacks each and every time the demonic, masterful Tim Curry jumped up on screen to ruin their heartwarming chinese restaurant meals lol This couldn't possibly be the same funny hotel man off of Home Alone 2 under all that makeup...could it?! Your still the embodiment of my nightmares Tim....
dean gagatr I know I'm 8 months behind but screw it haha Obviously yes there only is one original because, well original means the first one and Tims performance was so yeah.. obviously

His condition just breaks my heart. I'm happy he looks a heck of a lot better these days, but the fact that we will never see old Tim Curry is an absolute tragedy. One of the greats, and most of the time the only reason to see the movies he was in (lead or not).
I love this! I've watched interviews with Tim and also with Bill, and both of them speak very highly of each other. I love how they both give each other the credit that is due and don't view it as a competition. Tim will ALWAYS be THE Pennywise in the original movie. Bill will ALWAYS be THE Pennywise in the new version. I think both performances are outstanding. I think each performance stands out on it's own. I love that Tim doesn't let the stroke keep himself out of the public eye. He proves that he's still the same funny, witty man he's always been. What an inspiration to us all. The comments about Georgie were hilarious!
It's always a joy to hear Tim Curry speak and I hope we can keep him with us for as long as possible because he's such a treasure. I've been saddened by the passing of actors before, but I feel when it's his time, it will be an immense loss.

Tim curry is an absolute legend. I still think he was and will be the best pennywise. Godbless you and Thank you for all the wonderful entertainment you've given us over the years. X
Wow this was a great interview, first time I've seen him with a bit of Charisma up on stage after his stroke. Great to see he can still play a crowd like that!

I just started reading the book and I can already tell that the new movie follows the book more. He will be the guest of honor at the london Ontario comic con this upcoming weekend Oct 5 and 6, cant wait to see him, home alone 2 was my fav as a kid with him in it.
Thank you so much Tim, you terrified us with IT as children, delighted us as a voice actor and made us giggle in Rocky Horror 💖 truly amazing actor (although IT will ALWAYS be my favorite of all time 😍)
I love Tim Curry. He's such a legend.. I love seeing him speaking, singing and acting. Such a great interview. It was hilarious when he talked about on set with Georgie: "Tim" "yeah" "you're scaring me" which is also cute as well come to think of it. Seeing him in that wheelchair makes me feel sad about him and I hope he's doing OK.💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Tim Curry was/is a master at the craft. I remember the first time I saw Home Alone 2 when I was a kid was blown away at how he could be a gentleman one second and then do a heel turn so quickly. It's sad to see him like that, but it's a sobering reminder that even our heroes are just people. In the end we'll all float.
Tim's stroke happened all the way back in 2012 and I wasn't aware of it at all. Poor man! I am happy to see that he's managing to be such a cheerful, pleasant person despite all that. Such a kind hearted man.

Interviewer: "Do you think this child has been in therapy for years since"
Tim: I hope so.

VickybabySJ let’s not forget the old one with shitty acting and terrible stop motion
He's so much better these days! I only hope he gets his bad-ass smile back.
Gods, he looks so unwell and still he lights up the whole room. What a star!
I love how he explains in-depth one of film's most iconic scenes in film history!

It's hard to see Tim Curry like this ☹️
Great interview with a Master Actor! We miss you Tim! Best of Health!
1990- Tim! You are scaring me!
2017- Love what you're doing with the character, love it!
It's amazing given the sickness and how old Tim Curry is that he's still so charming, witty and a real delight.
Underrated actor
I love both their performances, Tim Curry is such an awesome guy. Wish I met him when he was in Boston Comic Con last August.
Tim's response time and speaking abilities have improved so much since he first started appearing in public again! This made me feel so happy, and he was hilarious 😂

I love Tim Curry so much, and I hope he recovers and becomes strong enough to walk again
Makes me tear up to see my favorite people grow old and develop illnesses..😢 I hope he lives his remaining life to the fullest

what a utter legend you are!!
