Nice to see both tiers are treated the same. Beautiful Buffalo Nickels!👍

I only submit coins to NGC as per being an ANA member. I often wondered about this with some of the coins I’ve got back over the years. Awesome experiment, thanks Ben!

Cool deal. Makes me feel a bit better that they keep it legit. I was kind of wondering the same thing about the tear grading. Thanks for the experiment. BTW. BEAUTIFUL nickles😊👍

Great test! Glad to see that NGC passed the test. Thanks Ben.

Nice test Ben. I’m always thinking some shady stuff goes on with the grading system and techniques used. Did you send them same day, under the same name? If not, I suggest at least sending on different days. Maybe you’ll get a different grader...... just my thoughts. Great show. Keep up the good work my friend.

What we wanted to see was you sending in coins that would be worth more than $300.00 on the economy and see if they graded them high enough to be worth that or grade them and bill you the difference if valued more. That is what most of us were wondering.

I was wondering the same thing

Roger - I'll keep that in mind as well. I have to have the right group of coins to do that experiment. Yes that is also a good test to try. Thanks.

That’s exactly what I had in mind as a test. It’s probably easier said than done though because the viewers aren’t responsible for these charges. Ben is really helping everyone by submitting those coins.
Roger, you make a good point. I’m too new at collecting coins know the right coins to submit but I’ve watched videos of experienced collectors and dealers submissions and their results weren’t what they expected. Right now I’m going to sit back and learn as much as I can, try and find suitable coins for submission and PRAY. 🙂

I noticed the cert# on the 2nd group is only one pip off from the 1st group and the submissions were spaced about two weeks apart. I'm wondering why that is. Is it because of the coin type, and your 2nd trio happened to be the very next buffalo nickels that NGC had to grade? Or is it both the coin type and the grade which continues that chain of numbers? (e.g. the next buffalo nickels that NGC happens to grade 66 would be cert#5264277?).

I got a pack of submission forms from NGC and so all the submission forms are in sequence.

Ben, what happens if you send a coin in that exceeds the maximum value for the coin? Does it matter which level of service that you send in such a coin?

I asked you a question yesterday that was very similar to this video. Do company's who send in thousands and thousands of coins a year get better greads then those who send in hundreds? I feel like the anwser is yes but I was wondering if you have seen this??

Wouldn't a true test be to crack out the coin and send in the same coin at different tiers?

So after looking at all 6 of those ms66 buffalos does anyone look better to you then the others?
If so is the best looking one in the economy or standard submission?

    • @TheCoinGeek

I mention I didn't want to split hairs - they are all nice. I had one coin that had a rim bump , but super minor one - that was me being picky. They had a remarkably similar finish to them - color, luster, strike, I'm certain they all came from the same roll. That doesn't actually answer your question. I don't have all of them to compare again. But I will say I did not have a favorite, they were very, very similar.

    • @tylonnplatinumthe3rd659
      @tylonnplatinumthe3rd659 4 ปีที่แล้ว

That was my first thought that they had all came from the same roll and were nearly identical. I just thought that in hand there might be 1 or 2 nicer ones
      Thanks Ben

Do you get a grader # ? Like when you buy clothes it was inspected by #23. I wonder if you happened to get the same grader which caused the same grade to come back.

There are so many in our generation that wouldn't have thought of themselves as "conspiracy nuts" before they lived the life we've had to go through ....AND THEN.... honestly experiencing things like coin submission honestly and wondering why honesty isn't being done in return... :)

Interesting as a higher grade means a higher value? Can you ask them that if you pay more they can guarantee a higher grade?
