For cushions & mattresses.. Here in India, every year in the summer months we keep all the mattresses & cushions in the open sun whole day time for almost 4-5 days continuously.. That way they get cleaned of the germs..
The idea that you don’t need physical copies because you can stream is crazy. Streaming services get rid of shows all the time that you may enjoy or want to watch with someone later. Physical copies of stored properly will be there.
My parents refuse to get any streaming services like Netflix or Disney+ cause they're "too expensive". We just watch a lot of BBC iPlayer and we have loads of DVDs.
Not everybody has access to a decent internet connection. Stream if you like, but programs disappear or get edited (censored) all the time. I'd rather have the physical copy of my favorite stuff on a DVD that I recorded, rather than rely on whatever a streaming "service" or internet "provider" might or might not want to let me see, when they are working. And charge me extra for. DVD blanks are cheap, streaming is not.
My opinion is that this video is just trying to push a corporate agenda of planned obsolescence and the throw away society which makes the corporations richer.

"Pillows need to be replaced every year or two." Me sleeping on my pillows since birth: "I told them, but they keep giving me throw pillows."🤷🏾♀️ He's just telling us to spring clean bc we're hoarders.😂
Since we are talking about subjects which has expiration, why don't we talk about money? They are made up of paper and they travel all over the world and at least touched by millions of different people 🧐
There are people that claim that if you didn't use a thing you own for more than a year, you should just get rid of it. I think that a single year is not long enough, so I live by the rule that I get rid of everything that I have not used for at least the last five years. That's still a lot of stuff that is removed every year (since five years ago, you were probably a very different person, living a different life), but it's not wasteful. Since I inherited my house from my grandparents, and they did never throw away anything during their whole lives, there's a huge amount of stuff that I will have to get rid of in the future, but getting rid of stuff takes a lot of time to sort through it. So I do it bit by bit. Sometimes I find things that I did not watch anyone use a single time during my whole life, stuff that has been lying around for decades. I am quite positive that I will not miss what I did not observe anyone use at all ever :)
“The things you own end up owning you. It's only after you lose everything that you're free to do anything.” - Chuck Palahniuk, Fight Club I think this more true than most people understand.
Old pillowcases can be used to clean ceiling fans. Spray the fan blade with cleaner then wrap pillowcase around it and wipe from center of blade to the end, catching dust and whatnot inside the pillowcase and not dropping it all over everything.
