  • Today we visit the dying hilltop town of Civita. It dates back over 2500 years.

Thank you for watching Eric. I love that Italy is full of surprises. We usually start day trips with a destination, but always find gems along the way!

Yes it is! You’re so welcome! So happy to share. We are amazed at every turn in Italy. Never fear the backroads because if you get lost… All road lead to Rome.

Lived in Vicenza for 7 years, visited since many times....never heard of this place, great job finding a hidden gem. I would slowwwww down your panning shots. Looking forward to more day trips.

Nice trip! You're right about renting a car and getting out into the countryside. My wife and I have done that many times and seen many sites that tours skip, such as Erice in Sicilia.

Thank you for watching Theodore! It can be scary to hit the road and see where end up. We’ve always been more than pleasantly surprised! Thank for your support as encourage anyone that travels to explore Italy. We hope to visit Erice on a future trip!

Thank you for watching! We doubt there are many, if any, places “unknown” in Italy. We do love to see where the day will take us though. Sometimes it’s to Trevi Fountain and other times is a small roadside cafe. Most of the time, it is something in between. The wonder and beauty of Italy and the people never cease to amaze us!
