I have been to Civita di Bagnoreggio twice, the last time it was last year. Truly a magical place, to wander the alleys, like in some other time. Beautiful and breathtaking. Someone will be sooooo happy. Thank you for letting us dream.
Wow Nick, you gave us a gem this week. The village is amazing (and now on our bucket list for the next trip to Italy) and the home is simply charming. I also love the “family presentation” of one take property tours this week! You always thank us Nick but “thank you”! Every week a little bit of Italian heaven pops into our lives and it never gets old. Molte grazie Nick!
Two friends and I visited Civita back in 2000. At that time, we were told there were just 6 residents. It was quite weedy with piles of stone and a little effort at restoration going on. The church was not open and under restoration. There was 1 little shop with postcards, drinks and those awful refrigerated ice cream "products". Lots of flowers and the incredible views! All these years later, my friends still thank me for putting this amazing place on our agenda. This home is indeed a little gem. Someone is going to be very happy with it!
I love this property. I would buy the furniture from the owner and move right in as is. It is just stunning! The veranda outside is the showstopper IMO. Watching this video in the Midwest, USA, as I fix breakfast - beautiful way to start my day.
This is such a pleasant surprise all tucked away up on that mountain village! Wouldn't change the furniture...it fits the decor and the personality. One of One - Unique only unto itself. "Cozy" is my favorite sense and this is that through and through. Thank you Nick for bringing this - a wonderful gem for sure. 🌄
O.M.G!!! This is ONE IN A MILLION! I thought for sure you’d say two million $! I agree it might need a LITTLE tweaking, but it truly is FABULOUS and unique! It would have to be available for ANYONE to experience though, simply because the town is totally unique and everyone should get to experience something THIS FABULOUS at least once in their life! Because of that, I would decorate it to make it look “OldWorld” and raise the charm-factor! As a gardener, I’d have flowers everywhere! I’m in LOVE with this property! Thanks, Nick! Well done!
what a tour! quintessential italy. this is so cool! the kitchen is adorable :) and the terrace is amazing! the view is so beautiful..what a perch! that would be my hangout! how fun is this property :) it is all very nice but the top floor is fantastic! how private and exclusive it feels! yes, to make that an ensuite bathroom would be ideal! what a getaway :) you sitting under that vine with the your pal macchi in the last shot is just the best, nick! i enjoy these tours so much and this was another fun excursion today! as ever, thanks for the enjoyment!
Victoria is lovely. Good to have seen her. No longer a mystery if she really exists! The terrace is probably the most spectacular place do have some wine and watch the sunset. Probably so quiet there, you could hear when the sun brushes past the edge of the mountainside as it goes down to rest. Great place Nick! Not as nice as yours, but someone will cherish it nonetheless.
Wow! What a spot. I am amazed. And quite the price, yet not surprising. Perhaps a trip to have a meal at one of those restaurants though, thanks for sharing, awesome. 😎👍
I'm very familiar with Civita. It is a gorgeous village. There are less than 10 permanent residents, and everything needs to come through the bridge and uphill, making even the most basic tasks quite tricky. Construction is exceptionally costly from a logistics point of view, as the streets can only support small vehicles and ATVs. All the disposal and rubble needs to come across that pedestrian bridge. Then there is the fact that erosion has destroyed vast portions of the town since 1900. Engineers want to save it, but have yet to devise a workable plan. More parts of the village will inevitably collapse to the cliffs below. Many houses have already met this fate. This is the reason it's called the "Dying city." Lastly, the town is inundated with visitors during the high season. More than a million visit Civita every year. That is busloads of people. The price seems incredibly high to me, considering the ultimate fate of that terrace. Bagnoregio across the way and Lubriano offer amazingly priced houses and have all the amenities and the views.
Agree completely. It's enchanting and something of a dream, but to live there would be madness and a permanent inconvenience. I'm a little sad it's being colonised by the rich & famous: just a few years ago it was in real need of work (a lot of work) but the remoteness and charm made it very special. If it's going to become an enclave for celebrities who think they've stumbled on the real Italy, it'll be ruined. The property shown is of course lovely but hopelessly overpriced for what is quite a compact house with no garden (ok, the terrace is a stunner!). You can get a lot more for your money locally or between the Civita and Orvieto, all of it gorgeous countryside, so I cant see who will take this on unless they have money to burn and don't mind falling into the gorge one stormy night.... If anyone goes to view, stop at the restaurant over the parking - the resident nonna makes spectacular pasta with pear, taleggio and truffle, and her wild boar ragu is a sensation.
The ‘village of the royal bathroom’…😂😂😂😂…love love love Italian humor…I used to tell my father he was the ‘king of the buchaus’ and this area is approximately where his father was from…and he always said I lived in an ‘ivory tower’, at least now I know where it is…🤣🤣🤣🤣…it’s quirky, definitely unique, and now I can see the area where my ancestry came from thanks to your delightful video…thanks so much for making my day start with absolute enjoyment…💯❤️🫂
Nick just an amazing place. What a wonderful tour. You showed a restaurant but I bet you have to travel to shop. It's a place to visit but to live? Still its a picture perfect location. When you did the view out on the terrace I did a big gasp! OMG
Smashing! Completely heavenly! Thank you for showing us this uniquely magical place. And how wonderful to see beautiful, capable, intelligent Victoria at last! And even Mackie! Nick, this one is going on my saved list , it's truly special.
Wow, wow. Thank you, thank you, thank you. What an awesome place !!!!! Speech less about this property, form down to up, A jewel actualy, unique. This terrace wiht that view, please It made me feel crazy, what a charmy place!!!! Certainly you could do one or two changes, special decoration and a second bathroom. The price may be expensive, but this little twon and all the context bring this value to the property. Congratulations Nick, this time you go ahead from my expectations. Nice to meet Victoria, and the return of Macci. Thank you again, amaizing job.
WOW! This is exciting to get to see this city and then a listing! How does it get any better than this?!! Well, maybe a glass of wine outdoors in that gorgeous garden! LOL! And there are some amazing wines from the Lazio region. How lovely!
I was sure the house was in ruins. It's not. It's very nice. I would also purchase the furniture. Everything is tasteful and proportionate. I love the yellow in the kitchen area. That is a jewel of a property. I can imagine my friends reaction if they were to visit.
What a privilege to see this property and the little jewel-box village in which it sits, thank you, Nick! Also a joy to see Machi, goodest boy, yourself and Victoria, as always 🥰
Beautiful , what a unique place .your right , bit of updating, fabulous views , great price .One of the best tours ❤Thanks Nick , lovely to see the elusive Victoria 😎
That is such a sweet combination of historical Italian architecture and ‘70’s design-such a great design era. For what it offers (despite obvious drawbacks in convenience for full time living), totally reasonable price. ❤
Well hi Nick and Victoria its wonderful to finally see you shes is beautiful ! And shes very fast Id have to run to keep up 🥰 lol ...and absolutely getting paws wet is a fantastic idea when that pavement gets hot it will burn their little paws !! you talked about the tile and wood staircase It would have been nice to see it since you brought it up !?hahaha also that water heater you were talking about You could also get One of those that are electric that runs on electricity!! 👍😁so you will have no issues. Right, ?sounds like a plan to me 😁
...wow... I absolutely love this property. I would move here in a heat beat. This won't be on the market long. What a steal! Well worth it IMO. Great video Nick.
@italianproperty - €550K!?!? That is IMHO a bargain! Is it tip-top modern re kitchen, bathroom, tiles etc? No! But who cares! What I find appealing is the apparant peace and tranquility of having to share the village with just a dozen or so others, _AND_ there's no lawn to mow either ☺️☺️☺️ I was relieved that it is possible to take the little taxi across the bridge, as my wife has a heart condition which limits her mobility... Another _GREAT_ find Nick! Thanks so much for sharing it with us 😉👍☺️ Stay safe pal, and don't forget to hydrate in the sweltering Italian heat! All the best from a New Hampshire vacationing Dane! 👋👋👋
Absolutly amazing place ... The village is unique and the views ..... What a gem ! The price is understandable . Thanks for the wonderful tour , Nick . To you and the followers , a lovely weekend 😊
Welch außergewöhnlicher Ort, welch wunderbare Immobilie, wir sind verliebt! Danke lieber Nick für´s zeigen. Herzliche Grüße aus Dresden senden Dir Lutz & Jens
Italy is stuffed full of beautiful towns but there is something very very special about Civita, with a particular abundance of really good restaurants serving the hearty food of the Tuscia region, stews, steaks, wild boar... Lovely property Nick, right price, great location within easy reach of Rome and Viterbo, which is another hidden jewel, really worth going to the incredible Festa di Santa Rosa... So, any chance you'll sell more in Northern Lazio?
Oh Wow! Im not sure whats going on Nick but I keep blinking back tears. I love the entire village, narrow streets, location, house, details, views, EVERYTHING 🥹 SO BEAUTIFUL. 😍 Thank You for the tour Nick, Victoria and Macchi ❤️🇦🇺🦘 Have a Wonderful Week 💗
This episode was real treat. I thought you were just going to give us a tour of a very cool town. The house, Macchi and Victoria were all a bonus. (Btw, you're a lucky guy!) Considering this property is in such a unique place, I don't think the price is unreasonable. Location, location, location. Nick, thanks for taking us along!
I absolutely love Leon Russell.... "Mad dogs and Englishmen"!!!! What a gorgeous property..... 2 beautiful companions today. I'm so envious 🤗🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶❣️❣️❣️❣️
Hi Nick, this might come as a bit of a shock to you, but I actually found the price quite reasonable on this one! That patio is stunning, and the view might be one of the best ones yet. We were there in 2016 was truly an amazing Italian village, the camera doesn’t let you realize how steep the walk is to the village is.
No bloody cars...like an island. That is the great beauty there.
That outside terrace/patio looked so comfy. Perfect place to hide from the world and the monsters in it
Ohhh my gosh I’m soooo glad you covered this! Incredible.
