Massive thanks for this video. Watching it gave me the confidence to have a go and say no to Halfords and yes to diy and ebay parts -saved over £70 on parts and fitting! New head unit (Pioneer) looking and sounding great :) Cheers!
Watched about 10 videos on Vauxhall/Opel Corsa C stereo installs and this is the only one that actually helped me resolve the issues I was having regarding the cabling. Thanks!
You legend!! Been stuck for bloody ages on trying to get my new headunit fitted and this FINALLY got it working! Missed out connecting to the cig lighter ignition wire! Thanks so much!
This looks just the same set up as my Astra which I am about to change. I was unsure about the power feed but by connecting it to the lighter has answered by question - Thanks
Cheers, mate! I recently bought a used Meriva from Germany and was planning to take it to an electrician to have a Kenwood installed. This video gave me all of the information I needed to do it all myself for a fraction of the cost. Many thanks!
@@RustLocker Actually there has been a bit of a wrinkle. The radio works fine, but it can't control the onboard computer's functions on the GID, including the settings. Can you just positap the red wire into the black one without cutting anything? Another 2 din head unit I tested powers up without even using the cigarette lighter, will test it tomorrow
I don't understand why you have to splice into the 12v to get power, when original harness powered the the gm head unit. Why is it different for the after market one?
Excellent video. Just one question, the red power cable is an extended version of the one originally going into the multiblock adapter, i,e, you are by-passing the standard vauxhall double block connector? Thanks in advance.
Hi, When you change the stereo out using the proper harnesses will the little screen in the middle of the dash that displays the time and temp still light up? and if so will it still display the cd track number and radio frequency, or just time/temp, or nothing?...how does that all work? also, what sort of speakers would you recommend? I've installed cheap rear speakers already, but I want to upgrade all of them but I think the original head unit may be too weak. do you know what the rated speaker output is for the oem stereo, especially now it's using all 4 channels. cheers :)
Wow, I've been preparing to swap out the radio in my 2006 Combo for a.few weeks and thought I was ready to go. Until I saw your video yesterday! There's no way I would have sussed out needing to wire in the power cable never mind how to get it to come up behind the cigarette lighter!! Thank you so much mate, new radio is mint and I couldn't have done it without your help 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you mate for all your videos! Is it possible to make a tutorial fon installing 2 din android head unit ? I bought one and i can't make the steering wheel control to work. I bought a CanBus and still nothing. Thank you!
These corsa are ok work on. But the other model Corsa have a half cage as such what can remove, and a plastic casing is in the way of fitting a double din cage....
Hi 1st of all thank you for your help I done this and all is well but I see something about putting a fuse in to there have you had any problems with it as if you haven't I will just leave it thanks again

My van doesn't have the steering wheel controls, so I can't say for sure. But I assume that if you get the correct harness for your vehicle and a steering wheel control compatible head unit (probably most decent head units are) they should work fine.
Hello mate. Thanks for the useful video 👍🏼 I wonder if you could tell me if it was necessary to detach the battery terminals before wiring in the live cable, or if just having the ignition off is more than safe to perform this part of the modification? Thanks in advance 🙏🏼
Rust Locker thanks for the fast reply 👊🏼 Did you only get a shock because you had the ignition on before connecting touching the wires together? I guess if the ignition is on, there would be no power going through the live wire anyway, correct? Not familiar with detaching batteries so seems even more daunting!
You’re correct, I forgot the ignition was on. But to be safe, just undo the nut holding your negative lead on the battery, then detach the lead, then reconnect when you are done. Watch a video on car batteries if unsure, but it is easy and the safest way.
Thank you very much, with this video I mounted the radio in my Corsa and that I have no idea of electricity or these things I had bought the cable and it did not work but I saw your video and I put it well the yellow cable changed it I do not understand how buying the cable for the car does not come yellow where it should sorry for the translation I am Spanish

+Test Channel The facia is sold separately to the stereo, RudieMods.co.uk sorted me out with everything I need. You can always give them a call if you don’t see what you need on the website.
It sends a signal to an amplifier (if you have one) to tell the amp to turn on when you turn the head unit on. It also turns the amp off when the radio goes off. Amps are wired direct to your car battery so would flatten your battery if the remote wasn’t in place.
The harness came with a really long red wire to attach to a 12v source, I just followed instructions. I don’t pretend to be a professional, I just wing it on my driveway.

Surely the original harness has an ignition feed to power the radio, why doesn't the replacement harness hook up with that? Odd!!
It doesn't, Opel radios don't identify if you have the keys turned to ACC using that cable. That's why it always comes unplugged.
