In this video we take a look at the Coleman Colorado pop up tent camper. This thing is real old gem of a camper in my eyes. It really is for someone who only owns a compact car that would tow around 1,000 lbs. It could also be for someone who wants a super cheap camper since these are only sold used anymore for very cheap. Also my dog Atlas makes his first appearance here on Relative Motion, he hopes you really enjoy this episode!

The spiritual successor to the Colorado would currently be the Vida Aire6 which is a spiritual successor to the livin lite quicksilver line.
I am an owner of a Colorado, I can offer a correction. The ones that are lifted are ALL home made and do not shy away from that, the Colorado has a very large "Overlander" following and they replace the leaf springs and axle with jeep rear axles for clearance and most of the Overlander builds are way overboard and are usually much much better than the stock ones. If you are lucky enough to find a Colorado, don't hymn and haw, buy it or it will disappear, you will not be disappointed. I pull mine with our 1988 Toyota 4x4 and can get to some epic spots!

There was or is no Off Road version. The pictures you have leaning that direction are simply people who have changed the axle, added larger tires and retro fitted them as they personally saw fit.

When you pull it, do you put the cover on and attach it with the clips, or pull it without a cover?
The canvas has aluminum bars that slips into a channel and attached clips hold in place.

I just found one. They want $4000. 🤷. I want one but I'm not paying that much.
We have one of these. The interior fabric is deteriorating (the lining is peeling off). Any ideas on how to repair that?
There are certainly some companies out there on the internet that specializes in replacing the tent part, can be expensive though. Repairing is hard but can be done but often isn’t worth it, unfortunately once it starts falling apart… your time is pretty much up with that tent. A google search for a pop up trailer tent repair place should hopefully lead you in the right direction
