    In 1993 I bought a camperoo it was made in Australia very similar to this Camper it was fantastic easy to set up easy to pack away I could carry stuff on the top. Unfortunately I wore it out. I paid $2500 for it and unfortunately I can’t afford another one. I’d like to get a used one because I’m still traveling with the motorcycle.

    Its a shame the spiritual successor to Livin Lite isnt nearly as nice. Vida's Aire60 / 80 series are more crowded and a pain in the butt erect and take down. The legs of the bed on the Aire60 also are not joined together like on the Livin Lite so there's no rigidity to provide extra strength. Oh and they use dissimilar metals for the rivets and other fasteners.

    The mosquito is a great little helicopter but the turbine version is actually the worst one 😂 The engine is a converted apu and these do not like the kind of abuse a helicopter puts on them. Id actually feel safer behind the stick of the two stroke version

    I've taught in the Enstrom, R22/44/66, and Bell 206B/L. The statements about rotor inertia are probably confusing people. When a helicopter pilot talks about inertia, there are two concerns: how long do I have to lower the collective, and how much energy is stored in the rotor for the landing phase of an autorotation. The Enstrom is clearly a high inertia system... Enough energy that a low rpm warning system isn't required or fitted. Enough energy at the bottom to pick the aircraft back up, pedal turn 180°, and then... well, pretty much flop back onto the ground. Of the two accidents you showed from Wikipedia, the first one, the pilot was one of my instructors. He was in pretty bad shape from that crash ( he spent several minutes trapped in the wreckage at the bottom of the river ). But I don't think it's fair to even consider that as a strike against the Enstrom... Any helicopter will have catestrophic failures if you install incorrect components. The killer aspect of the Enstrom is the maintenance costs. I've seen many examples of people who buy them, fly a few years, and then are forced to sell them when the cumulative costs of maintenance get too high. ( They also need a lot of attention, including greasing all the fittings every 10 hours - the Robinsons purposely don't have any maintenance like that - no grease fittings at all ). Back to the rotor inertia issue, the R44 has less inertia, I'd call it "moderate" inertia... It does great touchdown autos, if you're even slightly skillful. The Enstrom is so easy, I've coached a student pilot through a touchdown auto on their 2nd or 3rd lesson. Part of that is having oleos, versus the stiff gear of a Robinson or Bell. Still, Enstrom kinda need those qualities... engine failures are not exactly rare on piston Enstrom helicopters. The radio station traffic reporter for WBZ here in Boston was proud of the fact that in the dozen engines failures he had in the Enstrom, he never damaged a machine. But still, 12 engine failures tells you something! ( For those who don't know, Enstrom did the old strategy of using a smaller engine to keep it lighter, but working that engine very hard, either by running higher RPMs, or through turbocharging... Robinson recognized the problem with that approach and did the opposite - put in a larger engine so even at "max" power it was loafing. The Robinsons have always had very good engine reliability. Final word on rotor inertia - R66 is about equivalent to the R44, but the R22 is very low inertia. R22s are difficult to autorotate. You have to nail all the numbers and timing to get good results, whereas the Enstrom ( and Bell 47/206 ) are very forgiving...

    Still around, but way too expensive for what you're getting. Standing area could also be bigger, and better vented for cooking. If I have to set up another tent area to cook, I might as well be in a ground tent.

    I'm no pilot, but I love flying these in Battlefield 1942: Desert Combat, lol. It's so responsive and light. The only drag was they didn't have hellfires, so they were only good for anti-personnel. Then I found OpenRFA and was able to extract and modify the data in BF's RFA files to make a Frankenchopper with all sorts of goodies strapped to it. I then placed it in Bocage, El Alamein, Ambush at Checkpoint Delta and Desertshield off in the corner of the map. Spawn in, grab a jet, fly over and dump it then come back in this chopper and drive my friends in the LAN party nuts :D

    00:08 “ … from point A to point B”. Actually this was the initial selling point for this aircraft. One of earliest publicity campaigns had a picture of an older guy standing next to one of these with the slogan: “Since I bought the Enstrom I’ve hardly done a thousand miles in my Mercedes”. Unless you are constantly having to fly to places with no landing facilities, a fixed wing craft is far more feasible for getting from said point A to point B. If you want to fly a helicopter rather than an air taxi don’t bother with this one. People don’t buy an F28 for aerial work, there’s a reason why …

    If you had actually taken a look, IE owned one , cheap certainly defines a Rotorway. The kit price will about double by the time it gets airworthy with all the UP grades it needs. IF that ever happens . Not to mention a pilot's lisence which will be in the neighborhood of about 40 Grand . Now you are in the crap for 100K easy! Next, is all the congenital things that come with these and the never-ending improvements that are needed. How do you spell maintenance Hog? Most are hanger Queens. Very few people actually have success with this particular aircraft and company. B4 the advent of the internet, the Rotorway company would OURIGHT LIE to you about almost everything. Like this just for one, "Hey Rotorway, is there anyone near me building one of these so we can exchange ideas?" Their answer was" 'nope'." So with the internet, they were so proud they would not even launch their own forum, so others did, and the truth slowly seeped out. The never-ending saga of engines without enough power, leaking water into crankcases, , overheating, installing temperature tape on all bearings, cause? again overheating. On and on we could go here. Gop ask a former owner I have owned two. (slow learner) Yeah cheap, so cheap the company has been old many times and afaik know is now owned by China . They make good stuff right? LOL Trust me, buy a mosquito or a Helicycle.

      I was gonna say, for that kind of money I'd much rather go with a turbine Mosquito (XET model). I personally wouldn't want to involve anyone else in my experimental-rated aircraft so single-seat is not an issue at all. I can be a pretty cheap guy, but I think a helicopter is the last place you want to go cheap. "Experimental" does not exactly instill me with confidence. A lower cost used Schweizer/Hughes to me is the bare minimum, as they have undergone many decades of monitoring of their fleet and I can be more confident for instance that a rotor blade that is meant for 2000 hours will actually make it there. That said, I have seen some great autorotations done on Mosquito models which veteran chopper pilots say are quite impressive. The experienced have said that they are downright dangerous in any kind of wind though. What are your thoughts on these craft?

    My platoon sergeant worked on piston powered rotary wing aircraft in the Army.. He said one issue with the engine in this type of aircraft application, was the engine needed to be warm, like warmed up thoroughly, or it could stall and power out at the worst possible moment. Fatal mistake.
