    Wow, this is the exact model sd40-2 I ordered from Jim back in 2013. He never delivered. Had to fight tooth and nail to get my money back (late 2016). Glad to see someone was able to get this exact one built. Looks exactly like I envisioned it. Glad MCC has got better management as TitanTrains, I see delays are no longer as bad. Best of luck to them.

    No way could I even afford to lay track, let alone buy one of these! But it never hurts to dream a bit. These are some amazingly detailed locos and very attractively detailed.

    I’ll stick with n scale thank you very much, 14k for this,I can make a whole layout in a 30x30 room with 14k with 6k remaining for trains.But it was a cool video and I appreciate you guys making it

    Another awesome loco review! If I had a good team of people around me with all the help and talent needed to build a loco from scratch, I would definitely build a CSX SD40-3. Not sure if it'd try to go for 1.5" or 1.6" scale, but it would definitely be cool to make. Watching these videos is an encouragement to maybe build one some day!

    Nice job on the paint but there was no such things as ditch lights in 1976.

      A lot of the original SD-40s didn't have them but the ditch lights were later added when they were rebuilt to the SD-40-2.

  • @jetenginethrust863
    @jetenginethrust863 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice review thanks for sharing. I noticed a small error in your description of the reservoir tanks on this loco and the Titan B&O GP9 you also did a review on back in January. You incorrectly stated "There are 2 hydraulic fluid reservoir tanks" on both locomotives. There is only one hydraulic tank on both locomotives & they are mounted closest to the hydraulic pump & engine. The other tank (looks just like the hyd tank) is the fuel tank for the 16HP engine & is mounted the furthest away from the hyd pump on both loco's. You can see the electric fuel pump installed on top of the hyd fluid cooler mounting plate & it's fuel inlet line connected to the top of the fuel tank on both locomotives. The tanks look exactly the same so no biggie was an honest mistake IMHO. Both are very nice well built locomotives.

    The propulsion of steam locomotives is in real scale. Why isn't that the case with the diesels?
