Shaun was thinking all these unnecessary reasons to justify her not really loving him but he forgets that she actually proposed him. I’m surprised no one told him that in this episode.
I think it's also important to understand Lea's point of view, Shaun's comment only made her doubt of herself too and their relationship. Let's remember that Shaun is Lea's first serious relationship in a long time and also how badly her first marriage ended. Also, she had previously described herself as needy and messy (blaming herself for the failure of her relationships) so the fact that Shaun recalled that unfortunate comment made her wonder if Shaun hadn't noticed her personal growth (as well as the effort she put in their relationship). Because let's be honest, Lea has grown a lot as a character since season 3, she now had a stable job, a seemingly stable relationship, and a partner who understood her and accepted her flaws that's why when she was wrong and Shaun called off the wedding, she was scared because so far their relationship seems too good and to perfect for her BUT after Shaun's comment, Lea must feel that the person she wants to marry doesn't realize that she truly loves him and wants a future with him.

Thank you. Shaun isn't perfect and people so often expect Lea to be a Saint. Shaun has to realize that not everything is about his ASD.

I understand how both Shaun and Lea feel, but I think Lea took things the wrong way about what Shaun said at the end of the episode.
There’s a lot of work Lea has yet to do to learn about being in a relationship with an autistic person who has severe trauma. Sean’s behavior comes from horrific things that have been done to him because he’s autistic and while that comment Lea made may not feel like a big deal it’s probably weighed on him very frequently since she said it. And she was really inconsiderate here. Sean has been having a long stay ptsd episode and the fact that no one in his life is seeing that is extremely concerning.
This is such a “feel good” moment right? Thanks for taking us back to season 3 “Autopsy”.
Shaun should’ve chased after her. Rule 1 is don’t let your significant other walk away without trying to make things work.

wow.. and yet again Paige remains outstanding in these scenes with Freddie, i mean if you think about how godtier Freddie is playing his role and Paige always is right up there with him. the face expressions from 2:15 - 2:20 just tell you how broken she is.

I wholeheartedly agree, 100%! I know this is Hollywood, and that this show was, and has been, intended to give people hope, but the writers never, ever, should have glossed over the hurt that Lea inflicted on Shaun in S3 E17 ("Fixation"). It should have been addressed and dealt with, and we, the fans and viewers, should have been given the chance to see it addressed and dealt with on screen. It was not healthy at all to "sweep it under the rug."
I agree with you as well! I also think that Shaun could use a life coach to help guide him through some of his problems. As for Lea, I truly believe that she loves Shaun but his ASD is making things harder. Thus, she has to choose either she wants to deal with it or not!!!
@@africanbella28 Shaun asks for lots of advice and even gets lots of unsolicited advice and he seldom take’s anyone’s advice. Instead Shaun processes everything he hears and sorts out a solution that he feels is correct.
He doesn’t like therapists as shown from season one. He solicits advice from many sources and never takes one in it’s entirety rather he assembles them all and arrives at his own conclusion.
Appreciate the writing and the depth of these two characters. Both Shaun and Lea showed they have feelings of inadequacy of themselves. Shaun feels Lea is settling and Lea felt completely rejected by Shaun in this episode. I believe Lea’s pain stems from Shaun rejecting her when he had a crisis involving Salen and the death of the baby. Shaun didn’t allow Lea to help him but instead rejected her and her wedding. He forgave her but I think Lea was more hurt that Shaun kept ignoring her throughout the day. She had to ask Dr. Glassman to speak to Shaun.
For Shaun people will always judge him by his ASD. It is understandable that he thinks others may think less of him because the only real affirmation he got as a child was from his brother. The man that has been a father figure to him is no longer running the hospital.
If Shaun does doubt Lea’s love then how can they have a relationship and Vice versa for Lea. Lea needs therapy because I think the wedding was a distraction for the loss of their baby. Also she has had a few failed relationships.
You hit the nail on the head. Shaun's ASD feeds into his abandonment issues. He does need to address them. Lea could probably use counseling to help her get closure over the loss of her baby.
😓damn. I love their relationship in this show so I really hope they work things out and get stronger as a couple.
Oy after the ASD comment it all went into the crapper. Oh well it’ll be so much fun seeing Shaun all alone. He got what he wished for. Hopefully he can fix this.

This manipulation 101! She was hounding him about forgiving her and the moment he did she turned it against him to make him look like the bad guy. How are you asking for forgiveness and when you get it you suddenly don’t need it? Can’t to see Shaun move on and find peace.
I think in a way she was looking for an out and she feels guilt for feeling the way she feels that Shaun talks about. And that's really the reason she blew up because she's mad at herself for having those feelings. Obviously they are going to work through this and it's a good idea that they confront these personal issues.

You’re missing the point. It takes a lot for some people to love someone with a disorder. She got past that, he accepted and they moved on. But Shaun brought it up as a reason to justify his doubt in their relationship. She tried to help him in the wrong way which ended up being a mistake but it shouldn’t have been that big of problem if he didn’t try to use things from the past that they had supposedly moved on from to be angry with her. They weren’t valid. Relationships don’t last long that way.

@@chris-gx7rs he’s been shown multiple times that the way he comes to a logical conclusion is by asking different opinions and all of those opinions basically told him to calm down and stop involving issues that don’t apply yet he still created a sense of unnecessary doubt. That’s not because of his disability that’s just him being a human being.

They say always forgive and forget. Once you forgive a person, hug and make up. That’s it. A person gets aggravated when you keep bragging on every petty setback. That’s going backwards; referring that he can’t handle being an adult

She was a bit harsh when he think she’s not good enough for him. He acts like one of the “Special Ed kids” All she wants to do is to help him and be there for him. Don’t count down every petty mistake and setback. Refer on something positive; not negative

What did she do ?
Marriage is suppose to be a pursuit of happiness, crossing obstacles and a change life. Even though she made a mistake, it won’t effect it. The path is still waiting for you. The way he ask if she’s not good enough for, is referring the pass instead of moving on in life. If that’s a point of leading that path it’s not leading your no where. You got married for all the setbacks of all the setbacks of your love one instead of thinking of the positive things. I must watch that show next week to find out what happen next. It’s important. If you watch the previous episode of the Good Doctor last night, you know what I’m talking about

Now she's making a big, stupid mistake, and this time not out of love. She pours oil an ambling fire. She's now very rude. Shaun doesn't deserve this!
She was crying in the car so she cares. You also remember Shaun threw a lot at her late at night and after a stressful day too so it is believable that she would break down. They both poured gasoline on a fire. Not gonna lie it hurt to watch and the aftermath hurts too. But hopefully they can work this out. We’ll see next week if any progress is made. I say progress because it’s unrealistic they work through this in one episode.

Am I the only one who can see her character was full of flaws to begin with? Her spontaneity and flakiness is not what Shaun needs as a partner. He made great strides and progress with Carly. She was patient, kind, told Shaun what she wanted and needed from him in an relationship with grace. Leah is a good person but not the right partner for Shaun.
