guitarist is dead on in tone and playing. very rare to see it that perfectly replicated.
He's great. His vintage Marshall tone is what separates him from all the high gain modern bullshit amps most guys try to use.
The thing about covering DLR is that its impossible to do it without coming across like a caricature, Eric gives off his own vibe that is familiar but also its own thing. I really dig it!
Toshi is just flat out EHV caliber with his tribute playing. Un effing believable. If I had my eyes shut and was hearing this without knowing who these guys are, I'd SWEAR it was eddie hands down. 🤯🤘🤘🤘🤘

In time I am hoping that the Brown M&Ms keep the flame alive for many years to come. As seen here, the impact of this music has no boundary.

2:18 nailed the solo! This was back when Eddie was writing new, exciting solos with scales and patterns we'd never heard before. Later EVH solos were full of repeating and recycling.
It's not that different I don't think. Tremolo pick up the neck, fast bluesy pentatonic shapes, even that thing where he bends, releases and bends a few times was already a known part of his vocabulary and continued to be for decades. He used it on balance, vh3, adkot even. The random notes I guess are new but they don't sound very good to me... Never did like when he left the key in an unsatisfying way.
Definitely nailed it though. And it certainly sounds like no one else at the time!
I always felt when Eddie's solo playing hit a wall his rhythm playing/songwritting got more complex/better.
Loved Eric in Slash's band. Wish they had done another album. This kinda proves that, had Dave looked after his voice, there is no reason he couldn't still sound this good today. When Dave was Eric's age in this video, 13yrs ago, his voice had already left the building.
This band is REDICULOUSLY incredible! I'm SMOKED after what I've seen and heard these katts play on their channel. Ive NEVER heard ANYONE come within a mile of being able to pull off VH. This is NUTS! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
