Fun fact Born to Fail: is actually completely made up. They’ve said in an interview when asked about it “we made up a factious story about a villian hurting other people, it’s completely made up and isn’t about anyone specific”. Tilian also went on to say he is on good terms with Tides of Man, they were even throwing ideas around about doing a 10 year anniversary show for their album Dreamhouse with Tilian on vocals. He used the lyric from that Tides of Man song as a nod to them and that band not shade. The band is on good terms with Jonny Craig and Tides of Man. It was always strange to me to bring up beef from years upon years ago after squashing all the beef between said people.
Afterburner was my first exposure to DGD. I checked them out because they were going to tour with coheed and i heard about them. But never listened. Prisoner was the first song i heard by them and I was BLOWN AWAY! Seeing them with my favorite band coheed was gonna be super lit! But they were booted off of the tour(rightfully so). Thats my longwinded intro to dgd story. Lol!
15:15 I actually went to a live show in Nashville last September and I was SOO excited to see them live since I've always heard they were great, but I ended up having to leave as they were setting the stage and getting ready to have DGD come up onto the stage. I was so disappointed, such a bad experience at the venue. Hope to see them live this year though.
Dude I highly recommend Bilmuri, I've been binging all the tracks he's put out over the years. There's some pretty amazing live shows of theirs on TH-cam as well!
It would be cool to see you go through Berried Alive's discography, not sure if you're too familiar with their music. But I feel like not enough people sit down and listen to full berried alive albums, most people just watch the guitar playthroughs. Which I think is a shame because Charles is more than just a great guitarist, him and his wife are incredible artists and songwriters. The music is creative, unique and awesome in every aspect.
Jackpot Juicer video is gonna be 3 hours haha Love it though man, these videos have been amazing and I appreciate your thoughts on topics that you get from the lyrics
i dont mind vocal effects tbh. the vocals are just another piece of that sweet sweet musical pie. i dont hate effects on guitars, or triggers on drums. make it sound good to my ears and im a happy boy. that said, autotune and shit, and relying on backing tracks live, fuck that, thats kinda really annoying. but just sweetening up the sound of your vocals is fine. especially considering, like you said, tilian can do the damn thing live without the production.
A lot of the lyrics on spotify are wrong. One example is when Will is on parody catharsis he says “cooked the whole game, now im fed up” which is such an obvious bar idk how whoever they get to do lyrics got it so wrong.
To me this is my least favorite dgd album due to different reasons but I’m glad you like it a lot and you’ve made me like it a little more from your points
That reverb cocktail umbrella comparison at 15:43 was fucking beautiful thank you for that

even so, you know jonny has to think that the default for everyone is the song is very much about him. thats a rough one.
@@Tonye80085 Jonny heard the song and was hyped about it. Saying “Jon Mess is actually saying some REAL shit” he was stoked for him.
@Fauxtrot_Band Jonny a real one
Is this a band where in our 60s we'll still be banging this shit on our Vinyl players?
I see them still hitting at 60
1:38:50 ToM is actually a instrumental band now lol, they never got a new singer after kicking Tilian as far as I'm aware.

20:20 my favorite part about that video is his facial expression's, he just looks so unbothered while he is absolutely shredding

I love how some people dislike Tillians voice but I bet they cant tell me a single bad song with him in it
Man it was gonna be my first time seeing them live at swanfest and my friends were gonna take me but then COVID hit and it got cancelled :(
That sucks

Yeah maybe. I’ve only heard about 30 seconds of them. Listening to them for the first time on here might be fun.
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO
covid buttfucked me seeing Coheed tour No World For Tomorrow.

Svelte Swan
it looks so effortless for will. mans just in his mode
he is just saying whatever, and we fucking love it!
Do you have any EQ or something? the stream sound just a touch better than when I listen to Spotify on my own.
Really? I’m surprised. Naw I’m not doing anything. Just recording it with obs
Really hoping you do secret band after DGD
Eventually, but we’re doing Every Time I Die next

That’s a good point. I think they’re AI generated so I could see them getting a few words wrong
@@DragTheLake732 they're submitted by users, but i see where youre coming from with the ai part
