Ahh Duke 3d the last game I still only played late at night when my parents were asleep even after they started letting me play games with gore openly when i was thirteen (summer 97). Duke 3d's Pistol is one of my favorite 90s FPS starter guns because my favorite gun types in shooters are full-auto weapons like Duke' 3D's Pistol (one of the changes between Duke 3D and Duke Nukem Forever I just can't forgive is the hobbling of the poor Pistol) and Shotguns. At least once though I managed to complete Death Row without a Pistol because I opened the secret area at the level's beginning with a Shotgun but missed the cabinet nest to the secret area switch which had the Pistol.

I agree. Plus Duke is just a funnier character in general for me. Though I do like both.

I think maybe you could be a little more specific on some of your vague descriptions of what the new version acfually is, you say it has new graphics but its essentially the same but with actual 3d level rendering, so that when you look up and down the graphics dont "skew" the way that they did originally, and there's added lighting effects because of the actual geometry being able to be lit like newer games.

My bad. Though if truth be told I would have thought those things were self explanatory for a 90s PC game being remastered in 2016. I wanted to dedicate the majority of the review to actually reviewing the game itself rather than simply trying to sell the remaster (which if truth be told aside from the bargain deal I got it for is still way overpriced IMO, they are charging nearly £16 for it at the moment) But yeah maybe I should have made the new features clearer than I did.

More consistent than Blood/Shadow Warrior but also never reaches the peaks those games do

I never played Blood or Shadow warrior so I can't comment on them. But I enjoyed Duke 3D very much.
