But, human civilaziton will get to this point after some economic and scientific achievements. As long as we can't manage to produce cost-efficient meat in the labs, humans will continue to exploit animals because it seems that complete vegan world unfortunately is just an utopia.
For Colton, Bucket will always be her little buddy although he is over 1,000 pounds now. What a wonderful story.

I know, we have three dog's a Bernese Mountain dog( Maggie)

Early every morning we walking them in the huge open space next door people call us the Dr Doolittle couple. They all get along...sadly better than people do.

Just throwing in my slice of joy, but I *earned* this profile pic by choosing the sad cat at the shelter. There does need to be more, there is more than one of us, and I'm so glad, because I could only handle 3 or 4 by myself, even if I owned land and wasn't renting a room.
Why don't you chip in? I don't know what your living space rules are, but I'm well aware that words like "I'll pay for new carpet" and "I want to *rescue* a shelter animal, what are your rules?" will get much farther with a landlord or apartment complex than just watching videos and commenting. If you are already rescuing or own your own space, why not talk about the next step, and *being* the example you want to set? I'd love to hear more stories of successful rescues and less about "why aren't we doing that?" because that means more people are helping instead of wondering why there isn't more help.
Setting up a sanctuary is unfortunately outside most people's price range. If you rent land rather than buy it, you could end up with your rescues being at the mercy of the whim of a landlord. Buying land costs, disappointingly. Otherwise I'm sure many people would leave their bs jobs or knackering, thankless hospitality jobs & lead fulfilling lives working together to support rescued farm animals. I dare say most slaughterhouse workers would 1000% prefer to be working on a sanctuary than getting PTSD from work now. Go vegan!
@@dontnoable Couldn’t agree more. The world is upside down at the moment. Humans I’m convinced are supposed to be caring for, and learning from animals, not murdering them in their millions and eating them every week, like we are doing.
I honestly couldn’t want to do this more, but financially hamstrung. I’m barely clinging on by my fingernails, after this last year with my business and I would so want to do what this lady does every day. It’s just not a financial possibility at all.
There’s millions of good people who would want to do this too. The question that we all need to be asking, is why is this way of life so out of reach for decent people? Because the system is messed up, designed to enslave and imprison not only animals, but us too. If you can get a good patch of land and have the resources to do it, then I absolutely applaud these people who choose to do this. There are so many animals that need us right now and those humans that want to do this, need them back. Unless we break the bonds of this self imposed enslavement system, then we can all kiss goodbye to what we all should be and want to do. The most frustrating thing of all? There’s abundance for everyone. People have been conned into thinking otherwise, because of a small group of very wealthy people, who think they’re superior to most, who want it all and don’t want to share. Unless this changes, then none of us will be able to experience our true purpose and true peace and contentment. It’s a damn shame.

There is so much work to be done. Meaningful work. & instead we are strong armed into jobs. To pay someone else's mortgage for them, or starve. It is wild that our imaginations close in so tightly around this pitiful system for living that serves the few & not everyone.

My goat got an infection so bad she was screaming in pain, but her utter was swelling and it had to be done. Milk wasn't coming out, it was blood and puss.

Cattle are not pets or toys, they are commodities. If there were no market for them, they wouldn't be bred in the first place, and would go out of existence. To keep an animal like that alive costs a lot of money, so it's almost worth it to pay someone to take it away. There's no sadness to it - that's just life.

We could take lessons from animals
People do get along with other people and just fine or great! People have old friends that get a long or make new friends with each other, have long lasting friendships, hang out, start a family, go on vacations together, have fun and play or hug, love and care for each other. I don’t know why every time there’s a video of animals playing together, some people have to say, “If only people got a long like this”! Or say, “We should take a lesson from these animals”! @@bonniesimpson1636 I am sure you will do good I am godmother to a cow at a sanctuary in Germany called Butenland,this guy went from regular farming (slaughtering and all) to animal protection today they promote a vegan lifestyle and are home to cows,dogs,cats,geese,pigs.....many with a very sad past who finally live the good life the story of how that guy turned his life around is inspirational and it all started with a girl spending the whole night with one of his cows singing to her and being with her on the last hours of her existence,it made that farmer think and realize that his cows mattered and are sentient beings .....

Any and every little thing any of us can do helps not only animals individually but also (I feel anyway) helps normalize the idea of animals being sentient creatures that deserve better just the same way it was normalized in the past that they weren't. I have a couple of friends with teenagers who have gone vegan and it gives me hope. I also wanted to say I was raised in Germany and that makes what you said extra special to me. I know that there's a perception that German people are cold and austere but honestly growing up there I had a bunch of "extra parents" around the neighborhood and found them to be so lovely and warm. It makes me so happy to hear of the guys change of mind and heart. It seems like I've been hearing lots of stories like that lately which is wonderful. One guys story really struck me. He said he'd always felt bad loading them up for slaughter and one day he just couldn't take it any more so he did the same thing, changed to a sanctuary. Good news people are starting to get it. Their eyes are so soulful and their natures so sweet I can't wait to start saving them! Thanks for the post and godmothering a cow! I will look Butenland up.

@SpaceAce100 that's why I've gone vegan. Mother cows and calves getting separated & the male calf shot - as well as all the rest that happens to the female calves - I phased out dairy from my diet & I'm vegan for life.
And I'd encourage others to look into veganism & going vegan. The Vegan Society site has information on how 🌱

You can do both. Don't support factory farms. Either hunt yourself and stick to wild game or include eggs, fish and dairy from your own cows. Animal. Protein is crucial for us. But compassion has a place in that as well.

Cows can have friends and even best friends. Someone actually did research into cow friendships and 'discovered' this (even though it seems like common sense, it's good to have scientific backing). Cows -- and animals in general, really -- are more emotionally intelligent than people think.
Sorry, they are not very intelligent. They can be trained somewhat and somewhat have a personality. They can never be fully trained to not attack you.

@@tomitstube That doesn't make sense. They are not intelligent animals. You should experience being around them. No mater how "domesticated" they are they will poop and pee standing right next to you. They can't be used and trained like Oxen and horses. That's how they became a food animal.

Children's minds are like a ball of clay waiting to be molded. Most are naturally playful, aside from species-specific survival instincts. Encouraged to be friendly and accepting, they tend to be that way, even if they are of different species. At a time when our world seems so divided based on our differences, it is encouraging to see Bucket and Colton show us love can conquer all barriers.
This is just the best. I Love Cow's and Dog's but together I've just never seen anything Cuter. Thank you for saving bucket. It seems all 3 of you got just what you needed from this. Thank you

Appreciate the fact that you wisely supervise your animals' interactions, and that you give all these wonderful critters a safe home!

Animals bond with the animals they are raised with. My dog was raised with kittens,and he believes that cats are part of his family. I just absolutely loved this adorable video, thanks for rescuing this calf, and what a very intelligent and amazing dog you've. Keep them together, always! They've definitely bonded,and will be unhappy to be separated.

It happens so we can eat veal and drink milk. Ever since this dawned on me I am vegetarian and drink soy milk.
And most vegetarian vegans don't actually know what they're talking about. We don't just rip calves from their mom so we can drink milk. That's not how it works.

Cattle are very dog-like in terms of their playfulness. Give them a pile of fresh straw and they bounce in it and drop down to rub their faces in it.
She also uses calf many times throughout the video, besides it isn't relevant.
