These Rheems are made by HTP, HTP was purchased by Rheem several years back now. In my old house I had an HTP 199K btu tankless wanted Hester inside the same case as your boiler. I’m sure the guts are totally different, but it was a great unit. I only had one issue with mine, a leaking blank plug, which was an easy fit. Would 100% buy a Rheem/HTP product again.
Hi my name is Waleed I have this boiler and the heat is not working Ben a month I don’t know what to do ???? I’m not a technician I have my plumber installed for me hot water working but heat is not working I’m going crazy no body in New York no how to fixed and if they do they charge me lots of money,,, I don’t know what to do ??
I just finished the install of my own Rheem combo boiler and one thing I noticed is that even running the cold water triggers the internal pump to start. Maybe the slight pressure interuption does that but not sure. Have you noticed this with yours?
No, ours won't run unless the hot water runs. It doesn't take much to trigger it so maybe the faucet has a mixing valve that is allowing hot water to pass by. I can't think of any other reason.
@@Off-Grid Thanks for responding. Must be a really sensitive switch. Your videos helped me a lot when I was working on putting it in. Thanks for doing it.
Yes, I was bleeding the air out of the outer loop that contains the pump, expansion tank, and spin down filter. Once that was full of fluid I tried to open the boiler valves thinking it would get the air out of there as well but it didn't work very well so I then hooked the sump pump directly to the boiler fittings and got all the air out of it too.
hi. i have similar unit for exactly one year. I had code 45 twice but didn't see any leak. could be condensation? also how often should we flush the unit? (3 ppl home. 1300 sf house)
You are supposed to flush it every six months to remove any buildup. I try to do this when the seasons change. So in the fall before using the radiant floor heat amd in the spring when we stop using the floor heat. Don't know about your error code. If it popped up once it could have been a fluke but if it happens repeatedly then you likely do have a leak somewhere in the system. Good luck!
Hi there... I have the same system.... I'm having trouble connecting a Nest thermostart. I have two wires and I connected it to CN15 just like yours. I was told by Rheem that I'm suppose to 24volts from CN15. Are you getting 24volts from CN15? Also what thermostat are you using? Are you using a zone controller? I have only one zone. Can you explain or show please. Thanks!!!!
I have a Honeywell TH1100DV1000 heat only thermostat which uses 24V. The system is not zoned. I have seven loops but an only using five currently. I don't think a Nest will run it properly.
@@Off-Grid What is the answer on this, is it just a contact closure that you hook up or do you actually supply it with 24v. My old system works off of a contact closure on the zone valve.
I have just install this same one, I connected the pump this way but I have notice more than once that it is not on all the time when heat is being called for. @@Off-Grid
@@danaauman5367 there could be several reasons for this. If domestic hot water is called for then the external pump will shut off. If your outside temp sensor is set up then it'll prevent the system from turning on even though the thermostat says to if the temperature is rising outside. You can set the sensitivity in the settings of the boiler.
I do not have the temp sensor turned on and I understand about the HW being priority. This is happening out side of the HW. I have looked at the manual and seen something about the boiler shutting of the internial pump of at time to help with its life, you think it is doing this to both?@@Off-Grid
If the boiler is on then the internal pump should always be on otherwise it would over heat the heat exchanger since the external pump doesn't pump through the heat exchanger loop. I'm sure some fluid would still go through but the majority would take the path of lease resistance back to the pump. So if your internal pump is off and the boiler is on them I think you need to call technical support and see what they say.
@@Off-Grid I also was looking for a solid wood vanity and went with a particle board one from Home Depot for the design. Fingers crossed that it will hold up.

Mind if I ask, where did you tether the ground wire from the circulator in the boiler? or did you just tether it to the boiler's housing?
There is a ground wire attachment spot on the boiler for the motor.

When I turn on hot water in the shower a lot of air came out

Shark bite ok for emergencies but have flaws. They are smaller inside diameter and too many cause a major stress on the flow of water. Just saying
