Yes, fresh is best! However, I do mine like my Alabama Granny and Aunt Belva used to. They cut it very very thin, 1/4 inch or smaller, then I salt and pepper it, and coat it with white corn meal and fry it in oil or shortening. Delicious!!🤤

Funny story about the butter and cool whip containers my brother grabbed one out of the fridge without realizing it was liver and onions and started eating it. We both don't like liver and onions. He thought it was chicken nuggets and fried onions.
