the thing is Thompson has all year to train for Track, while Holliday has only a few weeks due to him electing to play Football. I guess you could say Trindon's natural untrained speed was faster than Thompson's natural untrained speed.

Thompson is the man. Forget all that rubbish about untrained speed. Richard thompson is the champion and he has LSU's fastest times...the end.

    Thompson's 2007 PR was 10.09, 10.35.

I love how they all smash into the wall at the end. You would think the design would be a little better than that. lol.

But trindon holliday need to work on running in as straight a line as possible. Even in the 2007 NCAA's, I think too much lateral movement cost him the 100m title. If you watch in this race, it seems as if he momentarily lost his footing.

thenextreggie, You sound like you are bitter about something. Do you care to tell us what's really wrong? Did Richards success and superior performance hurt your feelings? He is simply faster than Holiday this year..accept it. Richards technique, transition, execution and composure has improved this year. People train so that they can improve. It should not be a suprise to you that he was better mentally and physically capable this year. PS dont hate.

Holidays 10.02 was on modern tartan track with modern equipment etc Bob Hayes way back in 1964 ran 10.05 on a wet DIRT track (YES DIRT) Hayes also ran 9.91 in the semi final also on Dirt. NO ONE in the NFL was or has been faster than Hayes, even back in 1963 was the first man to run yhe 60yd dash in UNDER 6seconds Hayes ran 5.9, to compare the fastest 60 in the NFL's fastest man comp is 6.09 by Ron Brown, even Darrell Green at his HOF induction said Hayes was the fastest to ever play.

They are obviously going off today's metrics but that will never take away what the legends have done before us. He is the fastest college football player of all time that i agree with but not the fastest football player of all time. Just watch that Jesse owens/de grasse video where he tries to mimic what owens did.

i could actually argue to you that richard thompson's top speed is his biggest weakness

You're not understanding what I'm saying. If you observe his technique,it's almost certain that his time would have been faster- that run had 6.4 potential, but he has a tendency to move too much to the right or the left....maybe it's a psychological thing, or a football thing....beats me!!! But yeah I know, coulda woulda shoulda....

    I think maybe trindon could have ran a 6.46 or a 6.48, but not a 6.39
