Fantastic Koi Talk. Two amazing guys. The thing I retained here is that a lot of things within the industry or at the source like the BKKS need to be updated and modernised, but even with modernising, nothing is better than the good old days. Fascinating snippets of history there. Thank you both!
I think it’s about doing the industry & the hobby justice. From the majority of comments we get, there’s a lot more to do. Hopefully we can all pull in the same direction
Fantastic edition as always , Tim is superb just like Peter was genuine koi people!! You always will have the gang who will want to do nothing more with shows than what is done now because it suits them just fine .

This is my absolute favourite episode so far, great to hear yer personal opinions on the great variety of topics that ye spoke about. Can't wait for the next episode
Very enoyable well done, i first went to infiltration in 1979, it inspired me to go to japan in 1981. I have lived in Perth wa now for 30yrs, still keep koi, just finished a 50,000ltr pond at home and run both a nexus and a drum. Keep up the good work guys.
Brilliant talk, I started keeping koi in 2009 and never knew connection until recently when seen comments on forum, great books and dvds by Peter however glad I stuck with my Nexus even though he told me he’s removed them often after seeing his TH-cam video about EA realised there was an issues between him and EA. Ricky and Tim doing great job for us younger generation.
I really enjoyed that. I've followed Tim for a while now I noticed he had the same surname as Pete but never realised he was his son😁. Tim and Ricky are really making a massive impact in the koi world its really good to see. Especially when everyone is getting together on these collaboration videos. Keep doing what your doing its going a long way chaps👍🏻😉
"There's enough room for every filter in this hobby" now thats what you want to here from a dealer not running another filter down 👍🏻 fantastic video again
This channel and Tim's are the only 2 koi TH-cam channels worth watching, proper Profesionals talking about stuff they know about, you put the rest to shame . keep them coming guys.

Was waiting for this koi talk and boy it didn’t disappoint, two of the best trading war stories! This was a proper koi talk! Hardly any camera eye contact The BKKS should bring the dealer show back, that would inject it with the impetus it needs Every dealer bringing their weapons out 😎😎

Interesting and frank conversation, too many points I'd want to comment on so will stick with just one major issue with the UK hobby/industry/clubs as a whole and that's the reliance on Facebook as a marketing medium. Does nobody realise that FB doesn't fit with the main hobbyist demographic. The vast majority of hobbyists I know do not use FB. It frustrates the hell out of me when a dealer website sends you to FB for the latest info/koi/products etc and without doubt this loses business and custom. I'm certain this impacts a large minority.
I bet it was hard for tim to come out of his dads shadow do huge huge shoes to fill, hes earnt his own audiance his you tube is top draw and its always good to listen to everybodys input
Ok, another comment... Shows should have classes for home bred koi. It's the only way I would put a koi into a show and it would create competition on a whole new level and open up the scene to a majority who will not or cannot afford to invest large sums of money to buy a show-worthy koi that ultimately someone else bred and partially/fully raised.
@@tonybarker428 Maybe the odd one will slip through the net but our community is relatively small, and dare I say it, reasonably honest, it can work. Another possibility is "breeders pairs" or even "breeders quads" - groups of up to 4 of your best koi from a spawning and scored/judged as one for an overall points score. The possibilities are quite exciting imo.
Waddy did not come to see how the Japanese hobbyists were doing in the summer, as did Waddy. I'm sure you two will change many minds. If you get the chance, I'll show you around! 三(卍 ˘ω˘))卍
