Trains at Church Fenton - 31/08/2023

Filmed on 31/08/2023. So, it isn't just York where we ventured to but having found out The Scarborough Spa Express stops at this station to take on water, it seems the perfect way to conclude a good day. And to a many trainspotters favourite station, Church Fenton (Season 10 Episode 24)
A few changes since the December timetable changes, Northern Trains which runs hourly between Blackpool North and York now stops and calls at this station alongside the Bridlington/Scarborough to York trains. It has been a while but Northern has re introduced their daily Sheffield to York services which is either operated by a class 150 or 158.
In terms of the overhead power lines/pantograph, they haven't progressed since our last visit back in Spring 2021. The plan is to electrify the line between York and Leeds but this will be a lengthy project to do so.
Note as well at Church Fenton, the disused extended platform which behind Church Fenton station is what used to be an old disused station building and also been told an old sidings which either stored rolling stock or engines in its hay day.
