I appreciate the info about the cities where the train stopped and photos/information about the stations themselves. That's not something I often see in this kind of videos.
i have been on this route many times and have enjoyed every trip. hoping to go again in 2025 except i will be going in the summer lol. very good video btw. sure it's slower than flying but it is much more relaxing. amtrak always wakes me up in spokane lol. i'ts the only time i see downtown spokane lol. i have never taken the portland section i have driven most of this route. i love the columbia river.
FANTASTIC video! Sitting in Australia it is a marvellous lesson in American geography. Thank you very much. One question. What is the distinction between a “depot” and a “station”?
@@squeakysalmon9465I usually hear(even to this day) people say depot for a station house building, and station for city/town(or specific location within a city) a train stops in. If someone uses these terms interchangeably, then they are not using each term correctly.
the highlights are going eastbound so you get the ride thru the park on very long climb out from Essex to Browning East Glacier. you feel the units workolumbia river going in to portland in the mornings you can sometimes see the fish jumbing as pass the dalles.

Thank you so much for all the incredible time and effort you put into these magic journies!!
Excellent video.
Glad its not about features of accommodation on Amtrak but the actual trip itself.
Coach travelling is epic. 👍

Footage from the seat and window. This is how train trip videos should be done. We want to see the views. Not some 30 minute tiktok. Great job.
I went to Chicago before the pandemic! I was there in 2019! Way before they shut everything down.
