The monster encounter is underwhelming here, in the original you had to poke out all it's eyes before setting the explosives. Could have been a much more involved fight.
In the original game, this level was the one I was most happy to complete. Wasn't the chemical sprayer the only way to kill the mutants in the original?
In a certain part of the mines level, you could find a generator, and you could use the gasoline from the generator to refill the chemical spray tank, creating a kind of flamethrower with which you could very easily defeat enemies and other dangers in the level.
I disagree, in fact the mine level here is fundamentally much more terrifying. However I do agree with most people that the game is unpolished in a lot of ways

Are there scary death screens like in the original? Because that's what made the original. That's what made the mine actually terrifying.

As I remember, you could kill maybe one or two when you were high level, but they were extremelly strong and were meant to be killed that way

I think this is a respectful remake to be honest. I can see there was effort. And the soundtrack is great.
Right off the start the key bind for opening up inventory is set to 'I' in a game where you move around with WASD. Yeah, that's some effort, alright.
