      Are you aware that only if people are brought to your item through ebay's promotion is when you have to pay them. They can still come through and see your item normally and you would not have to pay ebay for the promotion. Can you beat them at their game?

      @@ychongy I heard the opposite,...that if somebody views one of your promoted items, and then browses your store and buys a non-promoted item, you will be charged a promoted listings fee. Josh Galt sold a $4,000.00 item that was not promoted and he had a $400.00 promoted listing fee.

    I had a total opposite experience. Seasoned sellers here. Was having record high sales for months. Then decided to promote to get even more sales. Promoting literally shut down my sales, they completely stopped after promoting. I noticed most items promoted even lower in search results. I took off promotions and my items were again seen on lines 1-3. Promoting items was a very bad experience for me. Not sure I'll try that again!

    As somebody with an accounting degree and still does a little bit of tax, I really like these new "business checking accounts", but you can use pretty much any checking account for your business and make it easier for you and your CPA. Just get a checking account and use it soley for your business. Have all of your income go to it and use it for all of your business expenses. At the end of the year, you print off all 12 month's of bank statements and give it to your accountant. Tax Return made easy!

    Can you do a video on how to fix shipping issues?
    I’m brand new to it, and last week I sold a nonreverse mirror, I packed up my item and scheduled usps pickup. A day after pickup it was returned, pointing out an error= that the label said media instead of ground advantage.
    The order said buyer selected media mail. I honestly don’t know if I accidentally had it originally set to that or if they selected that to try to save on shipping. However, I didn’t know how to fix it so I messaged the buyer letting him know and canceled the order and refunded him. I had to put item out of stock or broken for the cancel reason because I panicked and didn’t know what else to do.
    If it happens again, how would I fix that? (adjusting shipping therefore needing the buyer to pay for the price difference)

    Ok I do Ebay part time. Why does Ebay have final value fee with includes shipping price. And they have another final fee today I notice 40 cents also. Example: sold an item for $9.00 with shipping at $9.95, total cost of $15.94. Fees base off $19.72 which is $2.61 plus the 40 cents for another final value fee. Total $3.01. Been trying to figure this out for a while. I wish someone would do a video on this.

    • @TaylorExchange
      @TaylorExchange  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      eBay has those explanations on their site.
      I think there was a time when people would sell an item for $20 shipping but $1 item cost to get around the final value fee so eBay made the change.
      The .40 cents is the listing fee I believe.

    • @trader8219
      @trader8219 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ebay fees are calculated as follows. 13.25% + 40 cents, so in your case $19.72x13.25= 2.61x0.40= $3.01. plus the mandatory minimum 2% promotion fee of (19.72X2= 0.39) so your total fee is 3.01+ 0.39= $3.40

    It's A nice strategy only if you plan to move volume Rapidly , I use the same type of strategy... but in essence , you are taking from the Bottom line ... if the Market sells at 25% and you are Selling at 25 % why give up 10% - 30% ? .. I can see if your moving it at like 10% ..and it's been sitting there and you have A better opportunity and need Capital I mean bumping that up makes sense .... but like Just to Turn and burn ... it's just bad business .... especially when now Everyone needs 16% to climb It's like people Racing to the Bottom on Amazon .... you have to take the difference between before and after promoting sales to get your increase in sales and only compare that number to your promoted fees. Believe me if you are selling 50% more then you are working almost 50% more. This is a labor intensive business. So you really need to look at the increase in your Net Sales and see if it justifies the extra work. For me promoting just wasnt worth the exttra work, I was sacrificing 2/3 of my extra sales to pay promoted fees on items that were going to sell anyway.

    Promoting is a scam. What eventually will happen is that everyone will start promoting, and whoever promotes at the highest percentage will prevail. I might be wrong, but eventually promoting will be a normal thing when listing, and you won't see any impact at all in sales in the future, unless you promote at the highest percentages. This is basically going to cost us more in the future with h very little impact. But I guess it works for now.

      I don’t think it’s a scam and what you’re saying could happen but it’s doubtful.
      A lot of people are not in eBay for the long haul. What I’ve learned is the longer I stay in and improve the further ahead I get at this.

    is 10% the magic number..to reduce sales by increasing promotion by the same amount,,i try reducing 5% to interested watchers then added to 5% promotion it seems to work.,i did a 10% off sale and zero effect but increasing 4% to 5% has lifted my dress shirts..increase of 450% mind you, three designer shirts did lift me quickly with over $100 to over $200 in the last week helped.

    Noob alert! Don't listen to others when they say it takes a week for your promoted listings to gain hold also. Just started redoing my promoter listings every 2 to 3 days. First time I did it I had a $2,000 sales day the next day. Some people years ago used to redo their promoted listings everyday.

      Idk what you mean by redoing it. But every item listed now will be at 10%

      You end all promo listings, start another promo, easy peasy. I do standard bulk at 1% over at 10% or .5 over at 9%.

    Promoted listings degrades the experience for the buyer and makes eBay a platform more cluttered with ads. As a buyer I can't stand ads, I want experience where when I search for something I get shown the best possible results not results that someone paid for. Maybe eBay does not have care about this worsening of customer experience after all Amazon and Google have tons of ads that people have to wade through and they are successful companies. That does not mean that am going to support this plague of ads.

    • @TaylorExchange
      @TaylorExchange  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That sounds like a personal problem.
      I do agree ads are a bit annoying but if the promoted listings program was affecting their bottom line they would change it.

      @@TaylorExchange Not everything is about the near term bottom line. Companies do a lot of things that improve their bottom line to benefit their investors at the expense of the consumer and their employees and even their success in the long run. On a platform that I shop on I want the business model to be about providing good products and services to the customer not maximizing profit through advertising.

    This was a couple months ago, still promoting? I guess I don't mind the fees on promoted sales because I do no advertising to get eyes on my product so Ebay can take a little more. It's up to us to get good items at good prices and increase our take. They are the vehicle and I like driving this Ebay Vehicle. Only small time, but will be growing soon. I did 4000 sales On Ebay last year, so just thankful that I can get a pay out just for working my own thing.
