- In this session we break the mould and head out to the beach during daylight in what has to be said are stunning winter conditions! Cold, crisp, no wind and a nice dusting of winter snow.
Stick the kettle on, sit back and enjoy and as always, many thanks for watching!
Tight lines and keep fishing!

Cowabunga Dave 😅, nice to see you fishing there, I took a great Turbot there about 25 years ago, it's never given me a blank but not big fish generally. Used to be quite heavily fished by the inshore boats from Blyth when they had salmon licences, nice session.
Cheers David hope you’re well, thanks very much for viewing and commenting🙏 nice re the turbot, love catching them👍 yeah not a huge fish venue but usually something about to provide a bit of sport. Yes I’ve heard the commercials can fish close in there occasionally. Tight lines if you’re out and about 🙋♂️👍
A couple of very greedy flounder was nice to see. Could tell it was cold as snow still on the beach. Tight lines 😊
Cheers Adrian much appreciated 🙏 yes they we’re certainly hungry that’s for sure! Yeah while since I’ve seen snow lying on the beach, never seen frost forming on the rod either! Tight lines if you’re out and about🙋♂️
Great video nice to see you using that great little rod 👍🥸🐶
Cheers Mick very much appreciated mate. Still one of my all time favourites after all of these years. The old Nemesis Plus SLR still gets the occasional run out too!
Thanks as always for watching, tight lines if you’re out and about 👍🙋♂️
Cold one that Dave. Nice and fresh.
Certainly was Peter, bearable due to there being no wind, I’d have been off it the wind had picked up!
Hope alls well with you, tight lines if you’ve been out and about 🙋♂️👍
Another top drop of fishing despite the cold well done
Right time to get out and enjoy the day in New Zealand 😊
Thanks very much really appreciate that🙏 thanks for watching from NZ! Do you fish over there? It’ll be red hot now there is it?
I’m enjoying your videos and some great venues, it’s making me want a trip up north for a couple of sessions🎣🎣
Cheers mate glad you’re enjoying the vids and thanks very much for watching. Tight lines if you’re out and about 🙋♂️💪
Love that type of fishing Dave, when you are a bit fed up and to get out on the beach on your own and relax you cant beat it.Another good video, well done😊
Thanks very much David very much appreciated 🙏 exactly, sometimes great to just have a relaxed one, clear the head and take the scenery in. Nothing better👌🏻 thanks for watching and commenting, tight lines if you’re out and about 👍
@@fullcircleangling keep up the good work.
@@davidbutler1931 cheers David we certainly will👍
Nice video mate, love those NE winter beaches. Hi from Western Australia
Hi Chris thanks very much for tuning in and commenting, very much appreciated 🙏 all the way from Down Under eh? Whereabouts in Western Oz?
@@fullcircleangling left Newcastle for Perth years ago then up to Broome in the North for 8 crazy fishing years and now back in Perth.
Another great video Dave, love whiting bashing in conditions like that down the Sunderland/Seaham area.
Cheers Dave much appreciated mate🙏 yeah good for a bit of fun, didn’t show that session unfortunately but good sport when they do.
Tight lines if you’re out and about 👍🙋♂️
Well done mate
Cheers mate much appreciated as always 🙏
Brilliant video as always mate. I’m a little behind, so looking forward to catching up. Tight lines
Thanks very much Chris very much appreciated 🙏 hope you enjoy the others 🤞 tight lines for your next session👍
Sunday mornings, hangovers and old episodes of the Simpsons. 😎
Sadly no whiting, nor haddock for that matter, but a nice wee session in the cold. Looks like the sandbar at the back got breached by one of the bigger storms?
Cheers
Cheers Oli appreciate you watching and commenting. Yes a chilly one indeed! Still shocked at how old Bart Simpson is! Yeah the sand bar may well have done yes. Tight lines if you’re out and about 🙋♂️👍
Great video again mate and well done on the fish 🎣👍
Cheers Ian very much appreciated 🙏 thanks as always for watching and commenting, tight lines if you’re out and about 🙋♂️👍
Nice video, lovely part of the world. Very engaging!
Thanks very much David really appreciate that mate🙏 glad you enjoyed the video. Tight lines if you’re out and about🙋♂️👍
I would agree whiting is very much underrated as a species. Nice taste. Small fillets but versatile. New to the Chanel and a local man. Looking to take up shore fishing needing full set up. Any suggestions locally to Newcastle you can recommend. Cheers
Hi Peter welcome to the channel and thanks very much for tuning in and commenting, much appreciated 🙏
My first question would be what sort of ground are you planning on fishing and what’s your budget?
Assuming that you’re fishing a bit of everything and don’t want to break the bank initially before you know you’re keen. My personal ‘all round’ suggestion that will serve you well for the north east out be something like a Century Tip Tornado (mk 2 Bronze whipping) or a Century Kompressor S (green whipping). Reel wise you can’t got wrong with a penn spinfisher/battle/clash 6000/7000 size and 50-60lb braid.
Hopefully that helps as a starter👍
well in pal cracking different video
Thanks very much mate very much appreciated 🙏 tight lines if you’re out and about 👍
Looked freezing david🥶🥶🥶❄️
Certainly was mate! Lovely afternoon but darkness finished me off🤣🤦 hope you’ve been getting a few 👍
Go pros hate the cold mate
They certainly do mate. Love hate relationship with them. For such a huge brand they really are sub standard. Thanks very much for watching, tight lines if you’re out and about 🙋♂️👍
Another Good watch 👍 very informative on the rigs and weights used.
I need to replace my tripod with a more sturdy one, what would you recommend?
All recommendations would be welcome.
Cheers
Pete
Thanks very much Peter really appreciate that mate🙏
Personally I look no further than the Ian Golds Supermatch tripod. Sturdy, lightweight and will accommodate all of the various gadgets that you can buy for them. I’ve had mine for years and years and it’s still going strong.
Hope that helps, tight lines for your next trip mate🙋♂️
Don’t you fancy using the drone to take your rig out some distance? I’d love to see it.
Hi Jamie thanks for watching and commenting. It would be interesting, but it’s not geared up for that sort of thing unfortunately. It’s a very small light piece of kit so any weight on it wouldn’t go down well, so to speak 🤣 tight lines 🙋♂️
Always dubious about Blyth beach for lack of depth. Off putting when you see people waist deep 100yds off. Always had nice bait off Andy and dawn. Who know me as "Davy nee teeth" lol.
Thanks for watching and commenting Davy much appreciated 🙏 I wouldn’t be put off about the depth at Blyth, in the right conditions it’s capable of throwing out some great mixed bags, especially early on in the season around October time. Yeah great shop is AD👍 tight lines if you’re out this weekend 🙋♂️💪
