  • Uncovered a brand new Sony XAV-AX5600 in the garage while cleaning up and decided to make a quick DIY install video for you all out there. On a added note the previous pioneer in the car is WAY out of date, so this brings the car more into 2022 with it's features.

    CDs are still my favorite way to listen to music, I was going to get a Bluetooth with CD but the deal I found on the Dual brand with no CD slot was too good to pass up

      Same. I love the cd sound over an app stream anyday

    Nice ... I have an 05 and did the same. Just one question ... What's that on your dash? Right above the steering wheel ... it looks like a phone mount with round gauges ... ?

    • @M2Motoring
      @M2Motoring  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! Yea you are correct. Water temp gauge, volt gauge, along with a a cell mount. The gauges came with the car cell mount I did as that’s the only place my heavy phone can sit without falling over

    What are the yellow and black wire sticking out the steering wheel? What brand of steering wheel

    • @M2Motoring
      @M2Motoring  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi the wiring was for the horn button. The steering wheel was a temp one until I got my nardi wheel back and that’s back in the car now 😀

    I'm doing this on my 04 right now but I have a problem that all the wires don't appear to be the same colors as the radio I bought. Any suggestions on how to figure it out?

    Did u ground this unit to metal? Or jus to the black wire? I have the same unit

    • @M2Motoring
      @M2Motoring  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi it’s grounded to metal. I always make an independent ground on aftermarket head units. Force of habit 😅

      @@M2Motoring I did to. But I’m gettin noise. So I think it’s maybe my rcas. It isn’t the radio I know. It’s a nice unit. Must be rcas

      @@M2Motoring I have a amp for bass and one for mids. Power wire is on drivers side ran through. And rcas r ran thru passenger side. But I ordered 2 pairs of triple shielded thick rcas. One for bass and one for mids amp. I think my mids amp rcas r the problem. Guess we’ll see

    To anyone here.... looking for a low(er) cost basic radio/GPS unit....with emphasis on the GPS being decent. Don't need Bluetooth or backup camera or any higher-end stuff.... all for a double-DIN 7" unit that fits gen1 Scion xA/XB.... thanks for any recommendations....

    • @M2Motoring
      @M2Motoring  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Sony does have affordable options that are 7” screens. As for Bluetooth/ gps it’s all sort of one nowadays as you would use Apple car play / android auto to interface and use that for gps.

    • @TheWilferch
      @TheWilferch 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@M2Motoring...so...for a newbie like me to understand, are you saying there is no "built-in" GPS on these units?......that instead they use the GPS of your (nearby) phone and simply display the "view" (and maybe some of the controls)...on their screen. Is that it?

    • @M2Motoring
      @M2Motoring  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. Built in gps is becoming a thing of the past. With older built in gps , you’d have to update your software every so often as roads are being built etc. With your phone connecting to the stereo, there’s no need for updates for that. Only updates you would have to do is the software for the stereo itself to help interface with new phone firmware updates better.

      Yes I did use a dash kit. Car had one with the previous head unit that came with the car . I just reused everything
