Great Post! It's remarkable watching him mature as a performer & how his voice has matured..... watch Slavic Bazaar 2015 where Dimash wins the Comp singing SOS & his performance is levels below when he returns as a guest in 2018 & the 2017 Singer performance & then to watch his amazing Fly Away performance in 2022 where he is simple a grown man now & the progression is simply Crazy b/c he was already levels above everyone anyway
But the maturity of his lower register & the mastery of his technique is Nutz - especially when you see some of his earlier performances from 17 yrs old to 20 yrs old - he doesn't possess the lower register maturity or the consistency of technique
these are not criticisms - after all when I say consistency of Technique - Dimash is doing things Live as a Teen Ager that No 35 y/o experience Star Vocalist would even dare Try in front of a Live audience
But for us - his fans - it's instructive & interesting b/c you do see him making some mistakes or adjustments & you can really Feel the Pressure of that Massive Live audience & it gave me a better appreciation of the ease in which he performs these insanely difficult technical performances while delivering Masterful choreographed Dance numbers & he is Emoting live on stage like a trained Shakespearean Stage Actor
When you see him struggle just a bit when he is younger it really made feel Awestruck when I re-watched some of his performances from 22- 26 years old
We are witnessing a man who will prob be talked about & enjoyed Hundreds of Years from now - like Beethoven & Bach - Dimash is on a whole other level (sorry this is so long - please forgive me - I was inspired by your beautiful post)

In my opinion this song is the top of his career yet.
You clearly loved that just as much as I did the first time (and every time there after)---and yet we are widely different ages, different nationalities and different genders. Proof positive that Dimash has worldwide appeal and is relatable to folks of all sorts of genetics and backgrounds. It is immensely satisfying to know how universally Dimash's music is accepted and loved.
Dude is on another level. He sounds like an angel, for lack of a better term because I have no idea what an angel sounds like but I imagine they sound like this . . . or maybe a Deathcore singer. Who knows? 🤡 Anyways. always a pleasure.
Notice at the beginning when Dimash is getting ready to sing you hear the heartbeat slowing down before stopping then Dimash sings its like the passing of life to be greeted by the angels. To me this is the closest you will get to heaven without going there x

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever listened to, and only Dimash's voice could evoke such a profound emotional response in me. This rendition touches the very core of my soul. I have watched this performance numerous times already since it premiered, and I am moved to tears the moment I hear the first note sung by Dimash's angelic voice.
Dimash premiered "Ave Maria" in August 2021, during his performance at the annual New Wave music competition in Sochi, Russia. He once again performed with Igor Krotoy on the piano. This is a vocalise interpretation of Schubert's "Ave Maria " 's opening vocals." Igor Krutoy composed this rendition for Dimash; it is not a cover. I read somewhere that the piece uses only three bars from the original composition and changes the fourth note to a higher note.
Someone explained that Dimash called Igor Krutoy with an idea for a brand new interpretation of Ave Maria and asked him to compose the music. Dimash is said to love Gregorian choral music, which is where he got the inspiration. Igor composed the music, after which Dimash conceived these exquisite vocals. Someone else likened it to "a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (dark to light)!"
The last note Diamsh sings is known as "Messa di Voce," the singing of a gradual crescendo and decrescendo on a long sustained note. It is considered one of the most challenging vocal exercises, and voice experts regard it as the ultimate test for any singer, a skill even the most experienced vocalists rarely ever master.
There are at least 11 other compositions titled "Ave Maria" and over 40 different renditions of these versions. The version most people are likely familiar with is Schubert's 1825 composition or the 1853 Gounod composition, based on a famous Bach keyboard prelude written 137 years earlier.
